Re: AA title: Edina vs EP

You never know, I think EP had a much better team in 2016 & a better team in 2017 than this years version of EP, and they got beat both times, so if EP somehow pulls off the upset tomorrow, it will be as ironic as it will be dramatic☝️To this point, best game I witnessed all season was Tonka vs Edi...

Re: Tourney Fever

For the sake of others in his office, he needs to go home. It would be a selfless act. Lee I agree, but he's trying to be all tough and thinks things will fall apart if he's not here. I'm worried that I'm going to catch the same fever an d have to miss work tomorrow and Friday--I know they can get ...

Personally, I have no problems with either announcer.

Definitely better than listening to Ben Clymer.

Re: Tourney Fever

I started coughing at 10:30. My supervisor told me to go home, with a wink. I think this is one of those bugs which comes on between 10-10:30 but only lasts three days. Lee Good, my friend will be relieved to hear that. He hasn't left work yet, but I did catch him feverishly muttering something abo...

Why? What's today? Not sure, but my friend is saying that they have a fever and might have to leave work early. Hope it's nothing contagious. I started coughing at 10:30. Anybody else make the mistake of working today and having trouble being productive? Asking for a friend.

Re: Neutron 14

Goldy313, thanks for posting this. Sad news indeed. I met Don in the mid-2000s when a group of Bored members started meeting and hanging out at the Liffey before, during, and after the Thursday AA State Tourney games. Don was a character! He was kind of the ringleader, though it took him a couple of...

This would require WBL to actually get back to the state tournament. STA at least seems to make it every year. That's true right now, but how good will STA be once the Vannellis leave? And how good will WBL be once Sager leaves (sorry, but what's a WBL thread without a Sager cheap shot)? The Bears ...

Even suggesting this shows disrespect for the Bears decades long accomplishment. Karl should remove this post, and the OP should suffer fines and a long suspension. Or just be sentenced to watching the A consolation semis. No, not the consolation semis!! At least give me the A consolation champions...

Good to see Karl and Danny in great Section 108. Enjoyed your running commentary on the upper section chants, I can never tell what they're saying so it helped to have your translations. And Karl, the autograph is up to $50 on eBay, thanks!

Representing for Section 108, I'll be at the X for all three days. Looking forward to it, though it'll be tough to top last year's tourney.

Between the consistent quality of the games and the all-North final, I'm certainly thrilled. And despite some bitterness that will linger over the press pass fiasco, I've really had a ton of fun being in the stands for this one and just getting to meet people and drink it all in. Class A has reache...

I left early from work on Friday and was at Aldrich at 3:00 to find out the game was already sold out. I'm sure it was a great atmosphere for those who were there, but at least one person who didn't get in was ticked off. If nothing else, they should look into putting a temporary sheet in the Colise...

   OMG. 2 goals in 11 seconds. I've never heard a place go from so quiet to complete bedlam so fast. The Rapids faithful sitting below us in the first deck went nuts. And again four more times that period. I walked by some of the Elk fans afterward and they were about as despon...

It looks like I'm finally going to make it up to Duluth for a Section Saturday. I'm hoping boblee's wrong and the games match up to some of the great tilts I've seen at Braemar, the BIG, Aldrich and the Coliseum on past Section Saturdays. Even if the games are one-sided, I'm expecting to enjoy a go...

Coliseum capacity - 5,200 Aldrich - 3,400 Braemar - 3,600 Ridder - 3,400 BIG - 2,500 The non-doubleheader section final games rarely fill more than half the seats at Coliseum. A couple of thoughts. Do you really think the MSHSL wants to hold finals that could draw in excess of the capacity of Aldrich, et al at those rinks? I think they'd want to give everyone who wants to attend the opportunity to see those games. Plus if the finals are held at Aldrich, et al they will ha...

Rant about the State Fair aside, I think I've got a good idea for how the MSHSL could handle the section finals in future years with the Coliseum toast. Apparently back in the day the metro finals were held in an all day affair at the Met Center so my plan would go back to that setup. I would sugges...

Eagles93, nice summary of the financial issues surrounding the closing, which as you said are twofold, first the actual cost of replacing the equipment and second, the cost of the downtime while it's being replaced. One of the neighborhood papers has a good article at http://www.parkbugle.org/21311/...
