Re: what was the best Moorhead team to lose a Championship g
The Spuds and Jags were tight in '94. I think the Spuds had the better team that year. Problem was...the Jags were used to beating the Spuds in the big game, and the Spuds were used to losing to the Jages in the big game.

FYI - Many know the Spuds lost to the Jags in the '92 final and the fin...

Re: Senior Hockey F/M Blazers
I think the cost would solely depend on if you and Videoscout were in the league! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

Re: what was the best Moorhead team to lose a Championship g
I agree with Neutron...it's hard to compare players from a different decade. The game is much better today than 10 years ago.

I will say that the '94, '95, and '05 losses were the toughest of the 6 runner-ups. I would say that the Spuds were the favorites in those contests.

Speaking of...

Re: Best
Without a doubt...the HS state tourney! I've played on enough teams to know that the best experience was playing with my childhood friends in the state tournament on our hometown varsity team. That's why numerous years later we all still have that weekend in March blocked off to see if the boys can ...

Re: Spuds
I hear that...maybe we should create a team comprised of all players from the Spuds runner-up fraternity and avenge those 6 defeats by entering the Canadian Senior Circuit and winning the Allen Cup!

Spuds will win one soon...'06 or '07!

Senior Hockey
It's true. Blake did play with TS for a couple of games. If the NHL doesn't resolve the lockout he may be back for the whole TS season next year. Cullen, too.

That brings up something interesting...are there any good regional senior hockey leagues anymore? I remember a lot of stories about ol...

One Moorhead Team that has had some success is Tobolt Seed. They have won countless men's league championships. Any Spud seniors looking for a place to play next year have a roster spot.

Hey Fives, Progrum, Pocketkk's, brickwall, icedreamer...what say you?

Re: 3AA conspiracy
East 13 - Not a bad hybrid of the current section format and my suggested seeding format. However, it could result in the logistics nightmare that 0809 referred to. For example, this year you could have had a Rochester team (15 or 16 seed) playing Moorhead (1 or 2 seed) in the game to get to state. ...

Re: 3AA conspiracy
0809 - I think the logistical nightmare could be averted...you provided the solution...you have regionals. And, some discretion would need to be used for seeding (i.e. if you have 4 regions, you can match up the seeds geographically). I doubt it would get any worse than Roseau traveling to St. Cloud...

3AA conspiracy/March Madness!
We had some spirited discussions this weekend on the flaws of the current system. 3AA teams are victimized regularly by the current playoff format, and the Class A field is victimized every year by powerhouse programs that won't move up to AA. Here's our solution:

Replicate the NCAA Basketbal...
