Re: covid and MH
I hope I am wrong on this, but I do not see how the pause ends on 12/18. Nor do I. I expect another case surge after Thanksgiving with deaths surging (again) just before Christmas. It looks bleak. Lee If it is true that we're going to start seeing a vaccine on December 11 (what the CDC stated this ...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)
Do you mind divulging your source? At least what industry/agency he/she works in? Will ice arenas be shut down? It would have to go to another level for ice arenas to be shut down; but the trend is not positive. I believe we could see rinks shuttered from Thanksgiving through January if we don't fl...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)
WOM and Hunter win. My inside source says all schools will be shut down in a week or two. Walz will also shut down bars and restaurants. Your local YMCA and gyms closed also. Sad deal Do you mind divulging your source? At least what industry/agency he/she works in? Will ice arenas be shut down? It ...

Yes,they are a low risk group. Sadly, when they leave the rink they interact with many who are not in a low risk group, parents, grandparents, neighbors, etc. Many of the populations have tried to slow the spread by wearing a mask and social distancing, but we've had others disregard any type of sc...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring
No answers, but would opine that the fall decision begins to build a roadmap for hockey. When you see colleges and universities planning to wrap up the fall semester by Thanksgiving, it doesn't bode well for business as usual for hockey in November. I'm guessing, at best, we are looking at delayed s...

Re: Coaching Changes - 2020-21
Eastview now open - Drey Bradley has retired after 13 years at the helm. They’ve been a middle of the pack AA team for most of their existence. Just for the fact that there generally aren’t an abundance of Twin Cities head coaching jobs at AA programs, does that up the profile of this opening? Or i...

Re: Moorhead Spuds and Moorhead
I just might be relocating to Moorhead for work. I will probably be driving to Moorhead in the next few weeks to look around. Any recommendations for a nice place to stay. And, I really want to check out the high school hockey facilities. Courtyard by Marriott in South Moorhead by I94, which will p...

Re: Recruiting 2020-21 Season
A thread below has been locked for some reason. If anyone knows about steps taken by MSHSL related to the allegations directed toward St. Thomas please share. Or if you can confirm it being a non-story because rules have been followed that too. Not a non-story, but one that takes time to work throu...

Re: Recruiting 2020-21 Season
There would have to be a certain age requirements. The kids who are high school age who are interested in transferring go on a free agent list. Kids who are bantams might want to go to a different high school, just saying then it is all out in the open. Ely kid wants to play elsewhere. They announc...

But it’s not a new phenomena. Been going on for forty plus years up on the border with a window factory & “Summer Santa.” The metro folks just appear to be better at talent assessment.

Buffalo Superfan
Sad day for Buffalo hockey, boys and girls, with the passing of Gary Wagner. He was killed in an automobile accident as he was driving home from the STMA/Buffalo quarterfinal. Gary was a founder and strong supporter of Buffalo hockey, and a constant presence at the arena. His love of community and s...
