Boucha only played in one tournament, also.
Fair point, but Boucha is like a living folk hero in MN HS hockey.
Agreed.

4-3 Moorhead. Just too much depth to be denied. Chip on their shoulder after not getting seeded.

Re: New Trophy

I guess I don’t get it, every time I walk into John Marshall High School there is a state championship trophy just sitting there for everyone to look at. They never have to give it back, has that changed? This will be a new traveling trophy with winning teams name engraved. Winning schools also rec...

Re: 8AA playoffs

All around closer than I thought; sounds like the Jacks played a whale of a game.

Moorhead over Buffalo by 2 or 3; and Roseau over Brainerd by 1. Should be two good games.

The concept appears to be over-hyped to me, but I never won a state championship. Nice to see Willard looking well!

Re: Does MSHSL or Mn Hockey have such a list of banned coaches

Minnesota Hockey spends a lot of money on background checks with an outside agency that is extensive. Of course, if a person has never ben caught or is doing something for the first time; that is impossible to catch up front. I don't know what USAH the Olympic committee or other states do in the is...

Minnesota Hockey Influencers

Over the years hockey in Minnesota has been influenced by thought leaders and normally a small group whose opinions or positions weigh heavily on today’s version of the game. Some past influencers, in my opinion, would include Robert Ridder, Cal Marvin, Stan Hubbard, John Mariucci, John Mayasich, He...

Longtime hockey coach Larry Hendrickson dies at 75 http://www.startribune.com/longtime-hockey-coach-larry-hendrickson-dies-at-75/485701651/ Larry was a beauty! A game changer in so many different ways; yet a personality that is not easily defined, as he was also a philosopher and theologian. Richfi...

Stay tuned? Others? The only other two D1 spots open right now.....that I am aware of....is Alaska-Fairbanks and Alaska-Anchorage. Seems like all the initial candidates for Anchorage, aside from one, have backed out. Fairbanks is not looking that attractive to many either. I don't necessarily see a...

Curious how Minnesota decided with Petino, Fleck, and Whalen to go with young coaches.......but decides in hockey to go with AARP eligible Motzko. I would say it is largely due to the fact that Minnesota is not an attractive destination for coaches in those other sports, so they have to take more o...

Stray comment. There's a lot of mentions of Hermantown getting stronger in 2019. The 2019-2020 Hawks squad looks like the weakest version of the Hawks in quite a while. That group would probably be pretty overmatched playing AA. Should Biondi end up leaving early that would have a significant impac...

How long has Blake B. been playing Hermantown Hockey? He is now a bonafide superstar in the state of hockey. His performance in game 1 was awesome! Well done, Blake!! Since mites I believe. His father dedicated many volunteer years to the youth association http://www.kbjr6.com/story/32942171/joe-bi...

Re: What in the world just happened to the Hermantown Hawks

I am sitting here in my living room trying figure out what I just saw. Did Alexandria simply put together a extra human effort against the Hawks juggernaut or did Hermantowm quit in the 3rd period after falling behind? It's pretty simple what you saw, they just got pummeled into class A for the for...
