Re: Troy Hesketh

Sounds like he will play for D3 Hamline.... has there ever been a 3rd round NHL pick to play D3? Is he playing juniors anywhere? Don't quote me on this, but there was a Wisconsin kid from Steven's Point, Travis Erstad, who pulled his verbal commitment from Wisconsin to play for D3 Stevens Point. An...

Re: Thoughts on Duluth East?

Some "experts" have been saying DE could possibly have a perfect season and a win the state title with ease this year. Is this true, or is it all hype? What do you think about DE's chances this year? No way on perfect season. Too tough to do that. They should be rated #1 at the start of the season....

when are you all gonna learn. MSP highscholl is not the hotbed to the NHL. AAA midget teams would kill our 22 game varsity best teams. If you did not get a chance to watch the nhl channel and the merioal cup, you would learn that these kids who go away home 15 GIVE YOUR SON A NO CHANCE. Looks like ...

Troy Hesketh was a 3rd round draft pick by Edmonton Oilers. He played in the USHL last year. Rumor was that he was de-committed from Wisconsin. Regardless, I would doubt he would play in the NA. Why would a team waste a pick like that? Matt Kaiser played for the development program and ended up pla...

Heres my last plug... with the amount of players that MN Youth hockey enrolls, MN should have a hell of a lot more kids who "make it", than they do. I agree that MN has a few who actually do, but percentage wise... it's actually quite pathetic. MN needs to do a better job. Minnesota is over-represe...

Minnesota HS hockey is not part of USA Hockey, so it would be hard to send the team anywhere. Exactly. IMO, Minnesota hockey is 2nd to none. We have a great balance of community hockey and off season AAA hockey if players choose to go that direction. Elite League and Elite Development League give t...

Per Roman's blog: With the latest commitment -- Blake Thompson's -- the Gophers now have nine defensemen and are getting bigger on the blue line. Five of the defensemen are 6-2 or taller. Here are the D-men expected to be on the roster next season (with their year of eligibility in 2011-12): 6-5, 21...

I've been hearing that Sandelin will be announced as head coach on monday. Just read this and was wondering if you had been smoking crack cocaine. Why would he leave UMD? He has done a great job with the Bulldogs in recent years, including an NCAA Championship. Duluth would not want to see him go a...

Why would he leave? He lives in a beautiful home on the St. Croix River. His roots are here. His family is here. Likely doesn't need the money.

Tromp by far, he played amazing in the whole tournament. Jenneta was really good he just comes out of the net too far. Works great for most games because his team is usually better than most of the kids they play. It doesn't work good playing agianst really great teams because it's way easier to be...

Interesting the word "recruit" comes up several times within this topic. Are there not rules against recruiting??? Also, one player does not make a team. No matter how special he is. I would be surprised if a local AA team would sign up to play HF. I think the word "recruit" will come to local AA He...

A basement, garage or other open area at home loaded with a net, backstop, stick handling balls, heavy weight pucks, 100-200 regular pucks, stick handling balls and good music!

Relatively cheap, fun and beats video games all day long! :D

I would think he would play 1-2 yrs in ann arbor and then play major jr. It seems alot of these players want the quickest way to the nhl. Not a lot of the top players there go to college . Patrick Kane would be an example of a player going from NTDP to Major Jr. Depending on age, players like Danny...
