I guess the fact they play in a conference full of AA teams means they aren't used to AA hockey play. Oh, and the fact they split the series and conference title with Hill along the way. P.S. Hill is way larger and plays more physical then Cretin. I agree that Cretin was the better team the past thr...

STA brings back all three lines of forwards and four of their defense including their top pair. With Crandall in net and revenge on their minds they will be a force. The only thing that could hurt them is kids leaving to the USHL or NTDP. But here's an interesting thought. STA's loss could have been...

Petereson did not impress me at last year's state even though all the Orono fans built him up like the next coming of Ken Dryden. Come on, Schroeder scored on him one handed. (Great shot but should have been saved. Crandall has matured and from what i have seen STA might be even better then last yea...

Goalieguy I'm not so sure Crandall's goals were as bad as you thought they were. The first goal, from my view Crandall was screened and did not even see the pass across the ice. he didn't even move because he never saw it. the second goal was caused by Vanelli stopping the puck right in front of the...

This year's Cinderella

Who is going to be this year's cinderella?

My pick is lakeville South. They have an amazing goalie in Yumaslaker and play in a weaker section this year. If a Yumaslaker gets hot, i would watch out.

Usually D-8 is a pretty weak district year in and year out. But this year they have some very good teams at the top that could make it to state. Just having these teams like Woodbury, Rochester, Lakeville and Eagan makes it a pretty strong district, but past these teams there is a sharp dropoff. I w...

Christian Issackson is by far the best of the 92 group. This year, he is playing third line for STA varsity and is part of the powerplay. Gavin is very good and is a huge contributer on J.V. Faulk played a few games when STA's top D was hurt but since has not played up. Crandall has scored over thir...

Adam Barlow. Plays for a mediocre team but can dominate. I saw the kid score an end to end rush in one game with a kid draped all over his back. He was out the next shift and laid out a kid.

Class A

Class A seems to be wide open. With STA not playing to their potential and losing to teams like Brainerd, they do not seem as good as they were predicted to be. Marshall has had some very good games but they have also had some bad ones. Hermantown is okay, not great. And I will believe Little Falls ...

The Edina vs. STA game will be the best game of the tournament. there is some very bad blood between Anders Lee and the Edina program. He left the program as an eigth grader to play STA varsity. This pissed a lot of people off in the Edina community. Also there is another player from Edina who I thi...

this is a rumor i just heard. Supposedly, the Minnesota Wild has asked for STA to build another rink so they could practice there. They promised to help pay for it so that will cut deeply into the huge cost. Any Confirmations?

It was never at Ridder arena. Back to the subject, this game will be all about depth. Both teams first lines are very good, even though Cretin lost Hickey. I believe that they will each get a goal. The game will depend on how the second and third lines play and from what I have seen STA is suprising...

WSP lost to North St. Paul pretty badly and then comes and beats Eagan that is quite an interesting turn of events. They also just got massacred by Woodbury.
How good is Lakeville South? I have seen their name a lot on the forum but have not seen them play.

Big Upsets

I want to hear what are the biggest upsets so far this year. Through the rumor vine I heard that Sibley Area AKA West St. Paul defeated 12th ranked eagan 1-0. From what I heard they lost like half their team the Sibley J.V. and got beat by North St. Paul 3-1. I can't believe it. Eagan was my pick to...

I agree with hockeywatcher. I heard that they are bringing a great class that is led by Sainty and Walters of Rosemount. Stepan of Hastings I also heard was going to STA. Last but not least I heard they were getting a very good defenseman fron the Edina program. Any proof on that rumor?

Last year, that kid from STA scoring the goal in the semi's to win the game and then scoring the winning goal in the final was pretty sweet. White had some great goals for GR when they played Hill. The game will be very interesting. STA will probaly have more talent and potential and will be better at the end of the year.
