Re: Section Finals Locations Thought
I am going to guess when the new St Thomas arena opens they will host a lot of games. 2,3,4,6. 1 wil stay in Rochester and 7 & 8 will stay where they are at now. Games should never be played at BIG, Braemar, Aldrich.

Mason Garcia from Holy Angels
Great story about Mason and his recovery from injury in November. Shout out to Highland Park Scots team with their classy showing last night AHA senior night.

Re: Holy Angels player serious injury
Senior captain, Mason Garcia was hurt in the scrimmage Saturday morning. He was taken off the ice by paramedics, and what I was told is he gave a thumbs up. I was not in attendance. As of Sunday night there is good news, he is moving his legs and arms and the neck brace has been removed and he has b...

No. He can not be living in Albertville and attend Rogers. You have to live in the boundaries of the public school you attend. I am thinking I have hear that the school boundary lines are messy with Rogers and STMA... I swear I have heard of kids who live in Albertville but are in the Rogers school...

Re: 2023-2024 New Section Alignment?
This makes the change even worse. I too an not sure how many players are from Richfield, but I would guess not many since the youth have been with Kennedy for years. The High School players should also be at Kennedy. Thanks for the clarification. ON the MSHSL still lists it as SWC.

Re: 2023-2024 New Section Alignment?
Just my opinion but Detroit Lakes should be in 6a. 8a has 10 teams, 6a has 8. 100 % agree also dont agree with moving Bloomington and Richfield to Metro East Section 4A but again they want to make as little changes as possible in a 2 year cycle. Looking at new Map.... **IF** Northfield drops Randol...

Re: Coach Lechner
There is more to being a good coach than winning. He is a coach who does not care about the trophy case, but about the whole team and how they grow. A few years back he dismissed a couple of his star players because of something they did, does not matter, and that team still was a success. Yes his p...

Re: Save the Govies...
In the last couple of years that there was a Richfield Hockey Association, they attempted to bring in the hockey players who were not traditional hockey players and families. Free equipment and ice time, was OKAY for a couple of weeks but went downhill fast then RHA went away. Now at the Richfield I...

Re: 2AA and 6AA back at Mariucci?
I remember a year where the first Mariucci game went 6 overtimes and the Jefferson- Minnetonka game started at 11pm. You sure about Jefferson vs Tonka? Like maybe the year 2000? I seem to remember it was Edina vs someone and then late game was Jefferson vs Holy Angels. But there could have been two...

Been a while for me, not much posting about anything lately. Always love the rankings each week. Watched Edina last Monday and saw a better effort than when they played Maple Gove. This win over BSM will awaken the sleeping giant, but BSM scares me as a quality team. Have to get out to more games th...

I hate to say it but the other team playing well down the stretch is Edina, I am putting them in the final against HM. I know people will think I am crazy but they always play well down to the end.

Re: 2021-22 Coaching Openings
So let me get this straight. LS is a public school? I thought it was just those nasty private schools that recruit? Sorry folks been happening forever all over the place. No team is dirtier then the other. Just your school doesn't do it and the one down the street does.

Re: New Section alignments for a three class state play-off
How about take the liberal way out and just issue a trophy to everyone? I am sure there can be names associated with them.
There should also be a tournament just for the teams in the cities with the first ring suburbs included.
Keep it the way it is, working fine....

I am by no means a fan of Edina, but I say this almost every year. Never count them out, they are showing once again why they are a strong program.
