NHL/high school

It would be interesting to see what MN NHL players in the playoffs this year played high school hockey their senior year.

So, do the Hill Murray Peewee and Bantam parents complain and whine too? Oops! Lost my thought there for awhile. Guess they can only do that at the high school level.

hipcheck

The hipcheck is a lost art of the game. Primarily because if not done properly, it can severely injure a player. Executed properly, it is an effective way to stop an attacking player and will not cause injury. You very seldom see it in the college ranks or NHL due to the same reason, too many injuri...

Whew, finally got rid of Moorhead! Must be dropping hockey as they are not in any section. Maybe moved to ND??

The THING is...communities that have youth teams take a look at how those teams are doing at their level. Hoping to see a glimmer of hope about a group coming through. Losing a player or two happens, but some teams gain a player or two. The private schools do not have that luxury of looking at their...

play in the lead

Rams are not a come from behind team by 2 or more goals, but if they are close going into the 3rd period(down 1/tied) or have the lead, they can be pretty exciting to watch.

speculation

This will be one of the best Section 8A games in the last 10 years. Neutral ice and two teams playing well.

Looking forward to an EGF win.

they will be there

Rams are simply the best in Section 8AA this year.

The rest of the tournament entries should be hoping to draw them in the 1st round, as at best they are a top 15 team.

That being said, they have some very good talent and will be nice to see how they stack up.

Very classy individual. When asked how it felt to be a hero, Oshie replied "The real heroes wear camo. I'm not one of them." Oshie is a great representative of the USA and keeps everything in perspective.

Lets go back in time. When they split the state into 2 levels, it was originally meant to be for the small schools to have a chance at a state tournament. The Teir system did not work. Small schools like Hallock and Baudette were supposed to be the ones that benifited from the 2 class system It has ...

great!

This is great to see. MN players helping out teams in the Frozen 4. With the exception of the St. Cloud players, I was unaware of the players on the other teams.

Players need to go to a school where they will play and enjoy the game. Lots of opportunities at schools besides in the Midwest!

goaltending

When teams are even, it will come down to goaltending. The Section 8AA team that has the hot goalie come playoff time will produce the winner. Spuds have generally had this factor come playoff time. Rams have a good one, but will need to prove he can win the game on his own. Should be interesting do...

Is the Elite league doing what it was intended to do?

Just seems that the Elite League was created to keep players in High School and not be lured into venturing into the Juniors before their high school eligibility was up. Seems to me, it worked at first, but now it just creates another stepping stone for the talented to play in the league and then le...

Ole

What I admire about Bruce, is he coached. He did not play the "politically correct" attitude towards his team. If a player was stinking up the ice, he was benched and another player was given the chance to prove himself. Bruce loves coaching and I truly hope he can continue what he loves t...
