Mounds View is playing better. Nice wins against White Bear Lake, Roseville,Totino-Grace and Forest Lake. However they still have tough away games against White Bear Lake and Stillwater. Check back in a few weeks. Seen Moundsview beat Stillwater last night, they seem to have turned their season aro...

Mounds View- A lot of pre season hype, even mentions in pre season Top 20 by some. Much hype about the new coaching staff and the bantams that made a run coming in to make this team a dark horse in the SEC and Section 4AA. Currently sitting in 9th place in the SEC. Agreed. Seen Moundsview had a cou...

Goalie-dad, I heard that the coach dug in and was very involved with the MV youth level this Fall, looks like an attempt to try and build interest in the youg players in order to keep them in the MV system, if true hopefully it helps

So, how will Jay and the GOVS look this year? Will they compete for the top in the Tri-Metro this year? Looks like if they do, they may be in trouble after this season.

I agree, why all the talk about bantams? Going into the season with new leadership, how do things look for MV coming out of summer camp, etc? Will they compete in the SEC?

I am pretty sure the goalie Travis Kurth was actually a senior, and I heard a rumor that he quit?

Hoffman is listed as a senior now. There are 6 other seniors listed as well which will have an impact. I agree they could be pretty good, but with no experienced goalie in the pipeline, along with the other seniors it could be difficult. I would guess this was the year they were looking to make some...

HP

It is cool to see them give it a try. It will be a really tough battle getting numbers in the program. There is a lot of competition for the youth players out of Highland Central, and many of them end up at private schools. They are having a tough time filling 25 games and may not this first year. W...

sibleywarrior22, give us your thoughts. They are in a tough conference and really have not done anything since they went to state with a great goalie by the name of Tallarico. Sounds like they have to compete with STA and CDH and some of the higher end players from their local youth association.

shmaz, yes the job has been filled. You are correct in saying the program is light in numbers, just enough to fill a varsity and jv squad. The Saints will be very experienced at the varsity level with several players in their 3rd and 4th year of playing varsity hockey. The big challenge in the Tri-M...

JohnsonGuy - what exactly are you looking for in a league? Just a place to get a jersey, or something competitive? There is not a lot out there in the spring unless you are hooked up with one of the top AAA type teams already. By your name I would think you are from the Johnson area, have you talked...

I would agree that he has improved in many areas. I also think his skating could be an issue. Not that he is a terrible skater, but not the smoothest in areas such as being quick off the start and in transisition. Last night he really did have some nice one timers and may have had 4 to 6 shots to th...
