Re: SLP vs BSM

I gotta go with the team with the home ice advantage. Whoever wears white will win by one goal.

Does anyone have an active link to the original story in LPH? I never got a chance to see it.

Re: BSM broken arms

Spencer Campion broke several bones in his arm and his elbow (he's out even through baseball season) against CDH last week. Pat Borer appeared to suffer a compound fracture last night. Talk about a bad string of luck. Especially as a senior losing the whole year.

Re: BSM Vs. Totino Grace 12/16

Guggenburger has been benched for over a week now. BSM has been playing a freshman; he is a good goalie but they are much stronger with Gug in the net. I'll go with BSM, 4-3 (I really don't know how much TG lost from last year, can anyone elaborate?)

Re: Top Defensemen

Chris Student and Thomas McCarthy from BSM. The former is a flashy guy who skates and handles the puck well. The later is a big, physical D-man who likes to play the body and clear out in front of the net.

Jaskowiak

JLS, no I don't think your description fits with Jaskowiak. He is a good kid with good parents. I think the reason he came to Benilde was a combination of their acedemic program (he is actually a smart one) and the hockey coaching staff (namely Jack Blatherwick). When Blatherwick left the program la...

Re: Performance in Bantams vs Rankings

Someone asked about BSM next year. They lost a lot in seniors Tranvick, Bigham, McCarthy and Lappen. They still have an exceptional defenseman in Jaskowiak. There has been some rumor that Nick is transferring but I can't confirm that. Guggenburger established himself as a top tier goaltender last ye...

Can we follow the NAHL draft like we did the USHL? Looking at their website (NAHL), I don't see anything on the draft, other than the date.

Certain Junior Defenseman

It would be surprising to me if this certain Junior defenseman would actually transfer to Jefferson to follow Blatherwick. It would seem a better fit for him, if he did want to leave the program, to go to Michigan instead. Not to mention, there is a lot of hassle changing schools half way through hi...

I'm pretty sure he was the head coach. I also think he was only there for 1 year but I'm not totally sure.

Hendickson

He coached at Richfield back in the 80's but more recently at Apple Valley where he won a state title in ~1996. The last few years, I think he has been out of coaching (at least at the high school level).

Blatherwick

That surprised me too, I thought Hendrickson and Blatherwick were old buddies. But apparently, it was Hendrickson who pushed Blatherwick out (even though Blatherwick resigned) to make room for other assistant coaches that he liked, including this trainer?? from the Wild. Kind of a head scratcher bei...

Blatherwick

The ironic thing is that Blatherwick is leaving Benilde. It sounds like they wanted to bring in some other coaches, including the trainer for the Wild?? I agree though, Blatherwick is the backbone behind BSM's success over the years.

Benilde

First of all, McCarthy graduated. Second, I think BSM might hold their own in 6AA next year. Rumor has it, there are several kids considering transfering to Benilde because of their coaching staff and the fact that they are now playing with the big boys. I predict they will be right up there with Je...

Sections

I always have to laugh when I see the new sections assignments. First of all, why do the two Bloomington schools play in different sections (that makes no sense whatsoever). Also, why doesn't the MSHSL move more competitive teams into section 5AA. When one team wins the section 4 consecutive times, ...
