Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?
I think the determining factor will be whether or not the kids are actually back in the buildings for school this year. If there is only distance learning and the kids will not be back in the classroom then there is no reason why they can't have high school sports or any after school activity. Have ...

Re: 7AA 2019-2020
East at #5 in 7AA is ridiculous. I can't wait to bring this post up when I'm driving home from Amsoil next year after watching East win ANOTHER section final.

Re: Duluth East at Andover, Section 7AA Final
Well Hermantown could go AA and make it a more northern section. (Sorry Flake) then the travel won't be as big of a deal. Oops, did I say that out loud???

Re: How many Titles would Eden Prairie have with Mike Randolph in the last 20 years?
The better question is, how many would he have won had Marshall not split the talent in East Duluth for the early to late parts of the 2000's?

Kevin Smalley hired at Cloquet - Denfeld now open. so who interviews at Denfeld now? anybody care to speculate? not sure how much fun being a punching bag to hermantown would be, but you have to start somewhere as a coach i guess.... A few names I've heard Dale Jago Scott Kishel( coached denfeld ba...

I sure wish CEC could keep their D1 talent through their senior season like Duluth East does year in an Year out. It's frustrating as a fan. -just being honest. A great read for sure. This kid has a plan and coach Mike Randolph. Very impressive, the Hounds system is.[/quote Have you ever thought of...

Hermantown to Stay Down in Class A
I apologize if this is already out there. I overheard a Hermantown School Board member today say they are going to stay at Class A the next two years. Bruce's retirement isn't going to bring change. Pretty sure this is not what the MSHSL intended by going to a 2 class system. I know they are playing...

There are too many of them I'll tell you that. These kids passing up 50-60 bantam games to play 3rd or 4th line Varsity is a shame. Unless you are going to step into a top 6 F or top 4 D, it blows my mind why kids would want to pass up having success and gaining confidence. Then there is the kids th...

Tell me again what the downside of the AA/A split is again? So we want Cloquets Bantam AA team from this year to fill their season with games vs Proctor, Hibbing and Silver Bay? My question is what is the upside? There was a reason why A teams didn't play B-1 teams before the split. I can't imagine...

The AA/A experiment is a joke!!! If the program was set up how it was designed that would be one thing but it did not change a thing. When you allow the programs that have AA teams to field A teams as well it defeats the purpose of what that whole plan was for. I wish it would go back to the way it ...

Re: Youth Hockey Hub
Both my players have now graduated out of youth hockey. Looking back, one thing that really bugs me now (that did not bug me a few years ago), is the fact that Youth Hockey Hub is directly profiting off of our youth hockey players during the MN Hockey seasons. I know others profit off of our kids d...

Is AA/A here to stay???
Now that it has been a couple years, is the AA/A experiment here to stay or is there any chance of it going back? Personally, I'd love to see it go back to the way it was before. I'm just assuming a fundamental change in levels of play would have a review period to see if it is working or not. Thoug...

Kind of a strange game, with the score certainly not telling the story of the gameplay. East looked as good as anyone in the state in the first period, with superb puck movement and forechecking. The top line was really flying, and they were rolling four and looking sound in back. Outside of a few ...

Re: What is going on with East? Is it panic time?
The Greyhound have lost 4 in a row since starting 4-0. Is East's run finally over or is this a small bump in the road for Randolphs team? No one has even seen how this East team is going to play yet this year. Everyone knows that Randolph lets the team just play until after Christmas and then he de...

365 days a year might be just a bit of an exaggeration. A nice example of the facts used in the article. And I'm sure the fact based articles proving this over and over again have been posted before, but I don't recall one. This particular article certainly isn't one of them. Yes, 365 is an exagger...

Of course it's because they're private. A Private school Bantam or PeeWee team completely flies in the face of the Neighborhood Assocation Model. The problem is that the Neighborhood Association model doesn't really exist anymore, so I understand your point. They might as well just allow it. Everyo...

But if DAHA has it's Bantams ALREADY under either East or Denfeld, how is this different? Is the resistance that Marshall is private, or would it still be contested if it was a third Duluth public? Of course it's because they're private. A Private school Bantam or PeeWee team completely flies in th...

Re: Bantam AA team for Marshall
Let me leave all of you with one last thing to ponder. I think we can all probably agree that, IF Marshall is ultimately allowed to have a Bantam “A” team, it will most likely set a precedent that could and, probably would change the youth hockey landscape in our state forever. At this point, Minne...

Everyone is concerned about high school team. That can wait. Youth hockey is grades 1-9. One single hockey program would have the biggest benefit at the mite level. I know about the sacred mite program in Duluth. Time to put them all together. Many more kids will play along with more and better vol...
