Any private school in the seven county metro should be forced to play AA. They pull their kids from all over whether they are in an A school or AA school. Puts the playing field on the level. Then other schools such as a Mpls Co-op can play down to A as they should.... Any takers STA, TG, Breck or ...

LOL. Been there, they seem to be playing the shorter 1 verse version now. But it is definitley cut off before its over. The absolute worst is at Johnson, because they do the Philadelphia Flyers' bit of playing Kate Smith's version of "God Bless America" instead of the anthem, and it feels like it's ...

No disrespect to the schools, but would it really be beneficial for teams like SPA, Minnehaha, and even Providence to play AA? Don't automatically lump all privates together, most care about academics more than athletics. Minnehaha barely has a JV team.

Think about how and where SSM gets their players, Delbarton does the same. They should be a very good team. On the other hand, they have to travel, and play 2 really tough games, maybe 3.

I know our guys had them fitted properly. The flaw is the flexibilty, when it flexes, there is not enough padding on the edges to keep the shell from hitting the forehead area. It is a SECONDARY purpose of the helmet to prevent concussions, the primary purpose is to protect the exterior of the head/...

One of our guys took a puck in the mask, gave him a nasty knot and cut on forehead, no stitches. Other guy hit to head from another player (should've had his head up), 27 stitches. Both injuries occurred in the forehead area, right above eyebrow.

A good mouth guard and a strong neck will prevent concussions more than a helmet. Until they figure out how to inject foam into the skull, this will be a problem. But the helmet should NOT be the cause of the injury, i really hope this gets taken care of soon. ps gerry, you see all the stuff going o...

Messier Helmets.

Anyone else having players cut by these helmets? I have seen 2 guys in less than a week be cut open (forehead area) wearing this brand.
Just wondering if it's a trend, or bad luck.
Thanks for reading.

As for putting 3 or 4 from one team, you have to consider that voters are probably not going to favor that many players from any one team. From what was researched elsewhere (not by me), there has never been one team to have three or more Mr. Hockey candidates in one year. Maybe Edina might have la...

Is this the girl's hockey thread? Cmon people, its part of the game, as are injuries. If the athletes are trained and coached properly the injuries will be less. There is no checking in Women's hockey, and they STILL have career ending injuries. I'm all for safety, but if you are that concerned, may...

Thanks for the insight fangirl. Very interesting. I definitely agree. It shows how competitive imbalance system can be self-correcting, as it so often is. scoreboard33, what if you are the 11th best team and in 20 games you have played the teams 1-10 and 11-21 (yeah, not practical, I know) and you are 10-10? You are losing to the teams better than you and beating the teams worse than you. Elk River isn't that exactly, but close. They play 7 of the to...
