congrats to the ponies. Can anyone tell me if there is another section where a team gets to play the finals on their home rink and use their locker room? Last I checked, games are played on the ice and not in a locker room. Congrats to the Ponies on a wonderful season and a great game last night. N...

Their departures (if/when they happen) will be a hit to HM, but certainly can't blame them for leaving.

May be off topic, but I felt yesterday's games really lacked emotion. I think a part of the reason my be the lack of band participation. I can understand Roseau not having a band, but EP & Stillwater?...really? Were there reasons why they were not there? Just curious.

I am a proud "Pioneer" having graduated and played multiple sports at HM. I have know Lex for a very long time & I have said it many times, the perception doesn't always match reality. Nice guy, decent coach, but is given way too much "love" for the success of the program. Every coach before him exp...

First, "Never", nice post. It was well thought out & full of passion. Secondly, I may be missing something here. How many private schools are in the AA field this year? How many private schools have a shot at winning a State title? Why is this still a topic right now? It's Tourney week people. Time ...

Hey Youngy,

My inital response was gonna be, "act like you've been there before"....but that wouldn't apply!

Congrat to your Ponies. Hope you & your son haven't given your wife too much crap about it. Enjoy Thurs night & hope they do well.

First of all, congrats to Stillwater & Coach Doman. You showed what good coaching & hard work can accomplish. I hope you & the "Pony Nation" enjoy the experience at State. I said at the beginning of the year this team lack leadership & goaltending and last night both were shaky. Coach Lechner appear...

Here is how I see the game playing out. 1-0 HM after the 1st. 3-0 after 2 with HM getting a PP and EV goal. They get another PP goal early in the 3rd, crowd starts to thin & Stillwater pops 1 in late. Final 4-1 HM in a quiet exit to the "Cave". HM will possess the puck 75% of the time. Stillwater wi...

I believe the knock was A big game. And the rest of his team didn't show up either. And if the likelihood of his team getting to the x next year is just as weak, why wouldn't he move on? (Please note I said move on, not move up.) You can't think of any reasons he'd want to play in a different progr...

Congrats to the Ponies for knocking off their archrival WBL. I'm sure these kids have been going at each other for years in their youth ranks and this group of seniors from Stillwater gets the last word. I love the fact they are in the Finals with Housley no where in sight. It will be interesting to...

Re: 4AA SEMIFINALS #4 ROSEVILLE VS #1 HILL-MURRAY

Could be better than it appears on paper. Because? Because Hill Murray folks go in with big heads and sometimes lose to teams that they shouldn't. I can accept that. Although, history has shown they haven't lost too many times in sections and rarely outside of the finals. This is not a great HM tea...

I had the opportunity to take the game in & here are my thoughts: FL appeared to lose to a jersey. They saw the word "EAST" and stood around to watch them play. They played tentative and waited for DE to relinguish the puck, which wasn't very often. Outside of a few shifts by FL top line, they rarel...

This Pioneers team has the talent & depth to win it all. However, unlike their recent teams, this team lacks an elite goalie, discipline, and leadership. I'm wondering if Lex has gotten soft in his old age because in the past, players would be sitting for a while after not playing the game the correc...

I can't help but laugh at the comments made by Mr. Short, Simley's AD. So you are gonna look at your options and if a conference wants to talk you'll listen, huh? "Addition by subtraction" is primarily based on the incident last year involving tweets Willie & his mother made. That didn't go over well in Lechner's world. Not questioning the young man's talent, but it appeared an alternative place to play hockey would serve everyone's best interest. He now beco...
