Sr D Cosimo Yapello Mahtomedi Yellowstone-AWHL When the coaches are parents at High School varsity, and it's obvious what's going on...gotta respect a kid who just says what a bunch of BS....now he is playing 50+ games and logging huge minutes....all you can do is say way to go Cosimo...Mahtomedi ge...

Apparently they want to clean the house of ...

If DeBoer had this happen to him that makes 2 kids I know of...so basically the player was good and got noticed at the great 8....2 years ago another kid this happened to, and another last year both are now playing D1...basically, it does work. 2ndly the name game does occur, sometimes directly from...

...as I rant ...lets remember one thing...the kid was just exploring his options! What an intelligent thing to do...but oh yea when you get back to school your coach is going to CAN U! Really? Is that a teaching moment? How does that ad anything constructive to assisting this kid form his decision. ...

Your dead wrong, respectfully. It has nothing to do about US talent and Canada...it has to do with Minnesota Hockey High School coaches and Canad & the remaining other US models (U18's etc.) who have never been out of the bubble long enough to realize there is a completely different system out there...

I see it this way: 1.)This threatens Minnesota Hockey (at least Pauly and the gang over at the parnoid MSHS Coaches Assoc.) 2.) The penalty was sooooo punative and so un necessary. 3.) Freedom of choice is being attacked (when the team was simply not hurt or threatened). So I ask you, if a kid (and ...

Goals against subject...?
Lack of conistency on this subject for ALL players is very evident. If plus minus stat were monitored it would be very revealing on this subject. Some kids are held accountable others are not!!! Those teams shouldn't get 2 goals a game!!! On another note don't have to guess what HM's weakness is thi...

The SiJHL is part of the CJHL 130+/- teams including all of the BCHL (Pennticton Vees), AJHL, etc. All of these teams enter a playoff for the same cup the RBC Cup. All of CJHL is Tier 2 hockey. There is no excuse for how they are doing as well or better than the Pennticton Vees, of course without th...

Why don't we read about the Minnesota Wilderness in the CJHL
Last year I got weekly updates on Minnesota born players playing for the BCHL Pennticton Vees (part of the CJHL) they were like 54-2 record and won thre RBC cup...that was something. Actually loved the weekely updates in both the Star Trib & the Pioneer Press. Their record, the players stats and the...

Great discussion. I really think the common thread here is let them go, individual freedom. One comment needing some discussion is what about the kid that gets cut at school B, when player from school A goes to B to play? Don't have an asnwer yet it happens all the time when a team 'loads' up recrui...

All jokes aside for one minute and consider these facts: 1.) the coach cut you or is not playing you as a Junior 2.) MSHSL makes $6 to $8 per fan at all games (my point it is a money making venture for the schools and the league to the tune of $5000-$10,000 on any given night-except playoffs and the...

Hill has a very good defensive core. Ryan Black and Sammy Becker(both former forwards) have to be by far the two of the best 5 seniors in the metro if not in the state. Very seasoned, smart with the puck D...and along with a whos who fine supporting cast...again all seasoned and trained superbly by ...

OK here are my predictions and theroy why. Right now the HM 1st line is simply struggling to score. The 3rd line is the best looking line and recently has started to score. The 2nd line with former WB boy Mitch Slatery was on fire, but Lech's squelched that by trying to improve two players on the 1s...

Karl...you took in to account 'emotion' rating Edian over Hill.....with Benilde the reinging champ from last year being beaten by the the team they beat to be reining champ....and you rate that at a discount due to 'emotion'....Oh I'm losing faith in you buddy. 2013 Mr. Hockey
Blake Heinrich-HM IS the obvious choice. All of the forwards you mention either disappear when he is on the ice, or they have already felt his bulldozing hits. He commands the ice like no other D in the state. There is no doubt IF he comes back HE will be the front runner. Congrats Blake on UMD

I'll come back to the kids of WB for a second. They had a good run as a group. From Squirts to High School some great performances. All the seniors like Majkozak and Morisete twins, the gritty performance of Mikey A. every game, going to state last year, and many state appearances from Squirts to Ba...

Regarding the number of Minnesota kids on one team (vee's). Are Canada Juniors allowed as many imports as they want per year or are they held to a minimum each year? If they don't use their quota for one year can they 'carry over' to another year? I had heard it was only 2/year...yet on several team...

Looks like the Elite program is really keeping those kids in school! Many, many more will be leaving in the coming years, as it is imperative the good ones move on-as is necessary and demanded by many college coaches. And if that is the prevailing environment--so in go the other kids with a chance, ...
