Will be able to get a better feel for where BSM sits in their next 8 games, as they'll face Andover, Wayzata, Lourdes, Minnetonka, Blake & Edina during that stretch.
Yikes, that's some stretch! Anything close to .500 would be a major accomplishment.

Andover up 1- 0 after the first.
And that's the way it ends, 1-0 Andover. Goal by Gabby Krause, assisted by Peyton Hemp.

Re: 2020 MS Goalie

I don't follow girls high school hockey as closely as I used to, but I am a huge fan of the women's team at the U of M. In my opinion the Gophs have not had a truly elite college net minder since Amanda Leveille, and before her, Noora Raty. So it's been about 5 years since the home team has had a go...

Re: 2020 Ms. Hockey discussion

Don't forget the final criteria to be selected....gopher recruits only...Burton is best forward, Nicholson best defense... Not sure about this year, but traditionally that's true (I would also argue, that's the way it should be!) While they've missed on a few, I don't think it's a coincidence that ...

Re: High school programs #s in Elite league

Breck or any other A team should not be able to play AA teams period except perhaps a mid-season tournament. Even then.... I think hockey is the only sport where this happens? If not certainly it's not as common. This in my opinion would impose a needless regulation on the better A teams that are c...

Re: High school programs #s in Elite league

Undoubtedly. Blake and Breck have a total of at least a handful of kids that would play starring roles for Tonka. And don't even think about what Edina would look like if all the Blake, Breck and Benilde kids went to school where they live. The conclusion I draw from this is that the private school...

Agreed. HS hockey is turning into the NBA. ☹
And when it comes to recruiting and transferring, the gap between private and public seems to be closing.

Re: Elite league

I have grown to love watching the girls game, too! I think the best thing we can do to support it is to be a positive and engaged fan. Please keep posting - more activity breeds more activity, and it’s fun for us fans and fun for the kids to have attention being paid to them as athletes. I think on...

Definitely seems like things have slipped over the years, in terms of info provided online... Hopefully folks here with girls in the league can provide updates.

Re: The Hermantown Thread

It's impossible to accurately predict 40 years out. So much depends on the relative population growth of communities. And money will continue to play a big part in each community's success, as having kids in hockey will not be getting any cheaper. So while Hermantown may be getting a fancy new arena...

Re: CTE in Hockey

NCAA/D1 does a better job of protecting players than either high school or the NHL. NCAA refs do not hesitate to call game misconducts and DQ's when the see them or when the review indicates they are warranted. This is especially true on blatant boarding and high hits in center ice.
