They took CEC seriously, beat em 2-0. Perhaps it's getting so close to playoffs now, they are saving themselves a bit for that. Also, it was like DM killed em, it wasn't a 2 goal game with an empty netter, could go the other way if they played again.

Yes you are right, GR is locked at 3 and I don't think anyone that knows the game well would be in bad spirits after losing to a powerhouse like Marshall. If DM was in 7AA they would probably win it.

No way CEC drops to #3 seed-if the D doesn't tip puck against East CEC wins game even though they were out played. When does TJ come back No way they drop to 3 if they lose today <----BS! Tyler is not coming back, he is out for the season. Which means regardless of seed the season is over for CEC.

It's pretty unpredictable what they will do. The coaches just vote by what they "think". Also, each coach is going to try to best position their team without doing anything real crazy like putting East at #7 on their form. If a coach played every team in the section and felt Brainerd was the best te...

I don't think they put any stake in how they finish. They have to look at the season as a whole. or all teams would play teams on Little Fall's schedule the last 3 weeks. Cloquet is 2 for sure if not 1. east takes the other spot, GR is 3. 4-6 who the hell knows, 7-10 who the hell cares. Agree with ...

In recent years that statement has proven 100% inaccurate. How teams are doing down the stretch is VERY important.

Well, the score is what really hurts them. If it was 2-1, maybe not. If they lose to Brainerd it just seems to me that is too big of a drop off right before the meeting for them to fight of East for #1. Tomorrow will say a lot about CEC's character. I know CEC beat and tied East, but playing bad rig...

If CEC loses to Brainerd, they're still the #2 seed. End of story. If they lose to Brainerd: Head to head, they split, Cloquet is +1 in those two games but Rapids won the more recent one; edge to neither. Section 7AA shows Cloquet (5-2-1) and Grand Rapids (3-2-1); edge to Cloquet Common opponents s...

If CEC loses to Brainerd they don't deserve to be in the top 2, END OF STORY!!!!!

CEC 0

I guess I was under the impression that Stillwater was having a better season than the .500 record they currently have. Was a bit surprised to see that. Still, I give East the edge by a single goal. If Cloquet loses to Stillwater tonight, this game increases in importance and really becomes importa...

If that is correct CEC is in danger of losing the top spot to East. Typically the top seed is clear cut and gets all the number 1 votes, but this year I wouldn't be surprised if one team gets 5 votes for number 1 and the other 4 votes. Never a dull year for 7AA!

Yep, East has a nice streak going at the end of the year, just like last season, this year it will come to a sudden halt in the semi-finals.

northwoods oldtimer is right, just crown the Hounds now. CEC won't beat them in the playoffs without TJ and Roe, Rapids is too inconsistent. Elk River, maybe. If I were a Duluth East fan I'd be buying my state tickets and booking my St. Paul hotel right now, if not a week or two ago. Season is over ...

Agreed. That is not seedings, but it is highly accurate for current rankings. I wouldn't move any of them. I think Elk River is starting to become the team we all thought they would be. Elk River deserves to be in that 4/5 game. Something tells me ER might be primed to take down the beast in the sem...

If CEC loses to East, is it a toss up for CEC and GR for the #2 spot? Perhaps Rapids would get #2 because of their shutout win over the Jacks.

I hope Elk River plays Braindead in that 4/5 game. Give East the #1 seed, and the fan alliance will be alive an well on Semi-final Saturday. Also, for as much smack as the Brainerd fans have put on the board about that 2-1 game 5 decades ago, I hope for that reason alone there is a rematch in the qa...
