Sad news indeed, thoughts to family and friends. My son and teammate had the pleasure to play for Steve in the 2012 fall Elite league on team SW. I'm not a "metro guy" by any means, just a hockey dad, but he struck me as special guy and treated the players with such honesty and grace. It wa...

Yes it does become a conflict. We had 3 guys that were in that boat while the team was in Duluth several years ago. Played Friday ran to Mnpls. Sat. and then back to play Sunday. In the end, they didn't get selected so that was a bummer. They did get invited to play the following year though. Unfort...

I have had lower level season tickets to the x since 2009. I have always sold any that I cant use to a dad and son at face value after seeing them reject the scalpers. I think it's wrong that these guys have a ton of tickets in their hands. My question is how do these people get their hands on so ma...

I can see this from both sides and both have their points. Yes it's run by the Elite guys and it costs money, is it worth it??? Unless your little johnny is way up the charts and has been well noticed during the HS season, then it can be a good thing to attend,be seen and try and showcase your talen...

Elliott, with 2 L's Your post on the Minnetonka/Maple Grove and WBL/Lakeville South game made me laugh. LOL as they say!!!! Being from down "South" and no love for any team south of the metro I had to agree. Just an old 1A dad with no more horses in the race, missing that!!! I would take in...

Oh the days, being now an emptynester hockey dad. I agree the cost of hockey is keeping parents away from the sport. The early youth hockey days for Mites Squirts to introduce the game and associations help defer the costs is great. The problem starts when little Johnny starts to show promise and pe...

I say have the NP coach and others seed Mankato #4 when voting and screw them out of #1 seed. That would be like what Mankato did to Lourdes in '08 seeding when Lourdes should have been the #1 seed. It resulted in Mankato having #1 seed and last line change in the section final game and they were ab...

C-dad, Bo is a great kid and parents. I checked Port Huron's roster but do not see him listed. I hope he got picked up some place he deserves a chance to play.

I liked Bo in the elite league and was bummed to see his playing time diminish at Edina. The reason he was 2nd in scoring was his 2 line mates from Lourdes. Sameulson was top 5 in asst. Funk was leading the league in points at the half way mark and then got hurt against team Wis. and ended up tied f...

For the Elite league you are either selected by the league and those invites either have come already or will be coming soon. If not selected to play then your next option is to try out for the elite league but as many in the past have noted, that their may only be a few slots left to fill on any gi...

Dugas was injured with a pulled groin so did not play the entire weekend which was a bummer for him I'm sure.
Brauer was a surprise not making the selection, as for him, are there plans for him to play Jrs?? He played well with the Lourdes boys on his line in the Elite league to end up 2nd in scoring.

Yes might agree on Thie although I didn't see him skate over the weekend.
The other "big names", it's very possible that they chose not to play for what ever reason/conflict. They had to sign a form to indicate whether they would play or not. Still a pretty solid line up of players

6 looks weak. I wouldn't go to light on section 6, Schuldt, Thei both on the SW Elite team and nice players, Stumpf and Newman Little Falls play well although not against the competition of others. Section 5 has a full boat for sure, Section 1 hard for me to tell, don't know many of these players, m...

4A/4AA with STA players and 2 of the top goalies. should be some good games though.
