They were supposed to be 17 minute periods. The first and second were 20 and then they STA coaches caught it at the beginning of the third period. 6 Minutes of extra game time is a lot of additional time that tired STA out with them not used to that.

SSM wins 5-2

I would like to think that STA will win this one, but I know better. I think that minus goaltending STA would actually have a shot. The STA offense is strong although they often play with the puck a bit too much when they just need to put the puck on net and hope for a junk goal. The STA goalies are...

Sorry, I think the period that I put at the end of the link messed it up. Thanks for noticing it. Its always better to be at the games and see them in person. But if you can't make it to the game, watching or listening to it is a good alternative. Attendance is up at games this year and I believe th...

OK, so I thought that Burnsville would lose to Eagan, then I thought they had no chance against Holy Angels, and I thought they would be clobbered by Blaine. Those BRAVES just keep proving me wrong so this time I am going to say that Burnsville will win. Hopefully I will be right this time. They are...

Someone did point out that Schroeder only had two goals in the tourney last year. This is very true. The year before I think he scored more because no one knew about him. He was little and slipped through. Last year everyone was watching out for him. The team is a lot more well rounded this year. Th...

5-4 STA with 2 OT's. This could be the best game of the state tournament. At least for class A.

More people should break the glass at IGH. Then it would be replaced faster and you could actually see through it. It was just cleaned last week and it still was some of the dirtiest glass I have ever seen. The only arena with worse glass is Aldrich. STA will beat Red Wing, but I think Red Wing will...

HM simply outplayed STA. Yes you can try to blame the fact that STA had more penalties than HM, but most of the penalties were good calls. The reffs did miss a couple that could have been called on HM, but like someone else said it probably would not have changed the outcome of the game. Any bad cal...

STA needs to play smart to pull this one off. I think that they can do it, they just need to prove to everyone that says they cant do it that they really can otherwise all those people will be happy and telling everyone that they were right. I would like to see the Cadets prove some people wrong, bu...

STA is going to have to play awesomely well to pull it off. I think that they can, but they need to play much much better than they have the past five or six games. HM is an awesome team, and STA can be also. HM has been much more consistant this year though. We shall see what happens. I think it wi...

The pace of play was very slow by STA standards for both JV and Varsity giving them a chance to slow things down and concentrate on getting the passes on the stick. Both JV and varsity had the fewest whistles of any STA game so far this year which allowed the game to move along smoothly. Neither tea...

STA 5 Richfield 2 Richfield will score the first goal of the game to slow the Cadets down. STA wont score their first until the end of the first period. Richfield will score the second goal in a last ditch desperation effort in the middle of the third period. STA has had difficulty with Richfield th...

STA V Mahtomedi @ St. Croix Rec. Center - Jan 4, 2007

Mahtomedi has given STA a challenge in the past. Will they do it again? Will STA come out on top? Can STA come back from its recent losses?

He will probably get a good talking to from the coaches and no one on here will ever even know about it. I could see them making him run the stairs at the arena until he is about to pass out to give him some time to think about what he has done.

I think its up to them if they really feel like presenting themselves that way. I actually never even noticed the banner, even after being at Aldrich for three days in a row this week. I will have to pay more attention next time I am there.

STA has a ton of potential, they just need to live up to that potential. I would say that STA and DM are about even at this point. Hermantown is fairly close behind them. A game between any two of those three teams could go any direction depending on who showed up to play that day. The STA defense a...

The STA Defense needs to step it up a notch. The offense is shooting this year without accuracy. At least they are shooting the puck. The fact that STA has been having higher numbers of shots on goal yet is still losing games tells me that the defense is making mistakes and Crandall is having some o...

We shall see about a rematch. We may get one in five days. Both teams have a few games to win though without any practices in between. It could be interesting. I think that STA will take this loss as a lesson and learn from it. They just need to learn really quick. I am starting to watch the FSN cov...

Team managers for all teams are very under recognized for the amount of work that they do. I cant remember the CDH managers that well, but other teams that I can remember- One of the Simley managers goes to every game and practice filming the team at the games and getting water for the teams and doi...

It would be sweet to have the Wild practice at the Saint Thomas Ice Arena. Its close to Saint Paul, less than ten minutes with some traffic even, five without traffic. They currently practice at Parade which has much cheaper ice. The wild are a business like any business and they look to save money....
