is it just me, or is this the weakest field for class 1A in the history of the girls state tournament. Blake and Warroad are going to walk through the tournament. Its a shame that breck, roseau and even crookston have to sit and watch this tournament unfold when they should clearly be in the tournam...

ya. Bemidji will have a hard time replacing Erickson next year, and same goes to Elk river with the loss of some talented seniors. Moorhead the team to beat next year or no?

haha of course it is. I'm sure most teams and fans have realized that. I was just saying that top A teams could do just fine in AA sections.

Boblee, yes, I'm sure they could have won 8AA, after beating Bemidji close and Moorhead twice. They never played Elk River, but I think it would have been close. Alexandria hasnt lost a game to a 8AA team the last two years.

I would have to agree with you to some extent, but I thought Erickson didn't pay her dues in the defensive end like Arola and Gallop. It seemed like they would do all the work and set her up and she would get all the glory. She is impressive though and can definately light the lamp.

A little comparison of pre-season rankings to final rankings. Nice to see Alexandria ended up where they should have been the whole season!!! :) Class AA, FINAL RANKINGS February 28th, 2008 followed by Class AA, November 21, 2007 1 EDEN PRAIRIE 1. Eden Prairie 2 Grand Rapids/Greenway 2. Stillwater 3...

shots on goal is a statistic. and one of the most pointless ones at that. I think scoring chances and the final score at the end of the game are far more important so I think everyone should take shots on goal a little more lightly.

I expect them, Warroad, Breck and Blake to be the teams to beat in the state next year for class A. Both teams only lose one senior each.

hocktang and hockeyrube, whine all you want but Boblee was the only one who made these pics. The rest of us are just commenting on them. Id have to say all three of his picks are very good picks to. Justice is one of the top goalies in A, Holmes is one of the strongest D in class A, and Williams is ...

I think the unsung hero award could go to Alex's second and third line. Usually overlooked, but important to the team's success. They dont put up the numbers like first line but they play very good defense and allow Alex to run three lines. Second line center, Nikki Ecklund, was named player of the ...

Good list.. I like your appreciation of Alex, your one of the few. I do agree with Alex fans, they had amazing fan support down at the state tournament for a class A school!
and you did pick Alex to win it all, nice pic I'd have to say!!

They put two goals in. Something that an AVERAGE team like BLAKE couldn't do in the section finals. :D

I have no idea who cardswinagain is. But in response to your nonsense statement, Alex had more quality scoring chances against SSP, equal scoring chances against Roseau, and in my opinion, hung with Breck for two periods in shots and scoring chances. And in the third, were outshot, because they spen...

Quind1, I figured I would get a rise out of you.
If anyone from Stcloud tech should have gotten it, it should have been Kaasa, and not Katlyn "cherrypicker" Dold. Kaasa is much more important to that team than Dold.

this list is bogus... wow.. haha unbelieveable!!!!!!!! The first team seems accurate. Except for I think Justice or Grogan deserve the top goalie spots on these teams. The second team is ridiculous. How do they figure that Dold and the MW girl are on the second team? What about Wheelhouse, Williams,...

It may have been a lucky goal, but it was the result of hard work and hustle.
Also, I'd have to say Alex's first goal was "skill", as you put it.
