The unfortunate situation for the East Ridge team/fans is that as a 4 or 5 seed it will play the clear #1 in the section in semi's rather than the final. If memory serves me correct East Ridge was missing their best player (or D) the first half of the season. Or at least a significant chunk of the ...

Actually that is low, but it is early. I think we have consistently been around 30% the past few years.

A few of these jobs opened early, you would think they would like to get some coaches in place in time to allow them to run summer camps. I would guess we would start to see some of them announce hires in the near future.

Cork stepped down for family reasons. He wants to spend more time coaching his own kids. He'll never regret that. He did a tremendous job in his 17 years and there was absolutely no need for a change it was just time for him to spend more time with his family. Though he is leaving for all the right...

Maybe I am on the wrong path but it seems to me if you put EP ahead of Stillwater, not putting Wayzata at 2 is dreadful. Just stay consistent. Seems like name recognition could have come into play here. I think this speaks more about the system they use than the actual voters. Unlike sections where...

I understand the obsession with getting the best teams into the tournament, but what happened to the love for the Cinderella Story? I love having Cinderella teams, but just feel they should have to beat a good team in order to get to the big dance. IMO you lose the cinderella effect when an underdo...

Re: Class AA State Tournament - Seeding and Quarterfinals

Based solely on the latest (February 10th) Let’s Play Hockey rankings, the five seeded teams would be: #1 – Hill-Murray #2 – Edina #3 – Eden Prairie #4 – Maple Grove #5 – Elk River/Zimmerman In the latest (January 31st) KRACH, it was: #1 – Hill-Murray #2 – Edina #3 – Maple Grove #4 – Eden Prairie #...

Much better period for Mounds View. Sydney Brody with an early 2nd period goal. Shots 10-10 for the seconds. I think HM was short handed for half the period. Refs are calling penalties anytime someone falls on either side. Too bad to see. It's unfortunate, but this is often how girls games are call...

While I don't think it is all doom and gloom, cities and programs all go through growth and rebuilding. I think the speed and talent at the HS level as a whole is progressing, there are a few years coming where the recession hit hard and the numbers just aren't there in many programs, but a lot of t...

I certainly understand the argument, and it is truly sad the girls game is not part of "Boys Hockey Day MN". Re: Girls HS Hockey in Major Decline

The upcoming State Tourney will be a snoozer for both classes, they participants will clearly be the haves with lopsided scores. This is usually the case, but not for the reasons you say, it has to do more with balancing the sections, or at least having a system that allows the top teams a chance t...

it's always interesting to see how things change over time, and see rankings once more data is available. While I generally like Krach, I feel and have always felt that SOS is not weighted as highly as it should be. With a system like this it is better to play a soft schedule and rack up wins rather...
