I didn't think the high school season started for another month. How about posting 16u tier1 news that most don't care about somewhere else like on the youth page? They can play with the big girls in a few years. You do realize that many of the U16's on Sky have already played two years of varsity ...

Congrats to Sky. SSM U16 is a great team that was relentless and very well coached each time I saw them this fall. Sky was clearly the most consistent U16 Elite league team this fall and should have been the team to face them in the state game (or whatever it was called). According to the internet ...

If my notes are correct, one of the new goalies is a 10th grader who made it to the St. Cloud camp this past summer, and one of the 9th grade goalies should be there in 2017. It's a big step from state summer camp to backing a top 10 AA team. I've seen this said goalie, and she is not ready to make...

Jungels 1 - JWCD 0. I watched the first 15 minutes, it was scoreless when I left. The JWCD goalie was a 2003 filling in for Meyers. She was very, very good. Huh, I heard it was a 0-0 tie...with shots being about 50-10 in favor of JWCD....But Jungels team won the shootout. Sounds like a pretty good ...

U15 Nationals camp just ended...what an incredible turnout of college coaches...it was crazy seeing so many people and so many clipboards. I was really impressed/surprised at the quality of some of the outstate kids, but I was very happy with how the MN kids performed...Kudos to the MN kids!! anyon...

True top 15 will still be top 15. Just another money maker. Some girls that will now be attending are JV players on average teams. Not true last year and not true this year. Do not think it will be true next year either. Look at the list who made it and those who did not. I saw a handful of games i...

When you have "Futures" that have been cut by their HS JV team, you have to wonder about the selection criteria. Not necessarily....Futures are mostly 7th and 8th graders... There are still some high schools that don't want those players in their system if they have U15 eligibility. Lets face it, t...

Is this the first year they've had 4 tiers? I watched (I think) every team in the top 3 prospects brackets at least once. I don't want to call out players or teams, but after black/gray/white/red it seemed just about every team in 2nd and 3rd levels had at least 2 up to 4-5 players who really reall...

I was at Braemar to see games this weekend. I saw a lot of different teams at 15's and also a couple of 54 games for both 16 & 17 and also a couple of periods that had the MN girls just mopping up the competition in the NIT or whatever that other tourney was called. Thoughts at 15's: 1. D2 had 6 re...

Add Wayzata to the list. Becky Wacker resigned to raise a family. How many ex-Gopher women players does that now make ex-high school coaches? Off the top of my head: Wacker, Darwitz, Wendell-Pohl and Slominski? Obviously some (or perhaps all?) were voluntary resignations. Any other former Gophers f...

It's worth mentioning, though not a middle schooler, that there was some chatter about Taylor Henthorne leaving Roseville this summer for a NW Metro school. Turns out she is on the Hill-Murray varsity for this, her senior year. Not a surprise...this topic was talked about on the High School forum.....

Anyone catch scrimmages in rapids or cloquet? I wasn't there but I hear the fests up in Rapids were good ones. Sources say that Minnetonka looked good and Moundsview was very solid and works very hard. Sounds like Rapids is short due to 4 returners still out because of fall sports...but still compe...

Great week end of Hockey. Colorado brought 2 really good teams. Machine 02 played really well changed my opinion of them. So much girls talent nation wide. Yeah, that Colorado U12 team was insane.
