Back to this whole St. Cloud probation thing. The way I understand it, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the squirt coach who committed the offense is a long time board member and is a vice president or some such bigwig. I also understand the new president who was a VP was on that team, as we...

Let's just wait and see about that before we jump to any conclusions. The debate can go on all day about who was better last year. We only have one head to head matchup to go by. No one is going to change their opinions at this point.

Who else is in on this project? I would think costs are going to increase from what was quoted. They almost always do.

Wicket Canadian for Wicked........good one. He's a bit older than me. Sorry for revealing that. Can anyone tell me if it's true that this MAC expansion is being put upon the shoulders of the younger parents as far as funding and when this is all going to take place? What will the cost per player be?

I can't imagine, either. Maybe I'm overstating the amounts but I don't think so. Also heard those paid positions got raises this year......when the economy is in th edumper and youth hockey groups are trying to cut costs......the admin salary would cover about 230 hours of ice where I come from. I a...

Wow -- how much did the association pay for the survey? I heard the guy that does the admin work for the assocation makes something like $35k a year..........I can see paying someone to schedule the ice and maybe even pay something for the personw ho does the books but that seems like a lot. A frien...

Some dandy advice in the above post.....As they say, don't get down in the mud with a pig. All that will happen is that youll both get dirty, but the pig enjoys it. Sorry, i grew up on a farm and it seems to fit.

GB:

I don't have a stake in this one way or another. What I'm saying is that if one guy reveals his name, why should a guy who takes a shot at him not reveal his?

Loose Goose:

At least some have the guts to step forward and reveal their names. Why don't you? What HS does your kid go to? Where do you live? Easy to accuse others of having an agenda when you shoot your mouth off without revealing yourself.

Goose:

Not what I heard. The group is on the agenda at Minnesota Hockey's Meeting later this month to make its case. I don't think it's going away from talking to members of the group -- nothing but wishful thinking. This issue has been simmering for years and it's not likely to go away.

George Blanda:

Good job putting both links on the message board so that people can read what both groups are saying and make their minds up, good, bad or indifferent. I'm sure some have strong opinions one way or the other, while others couldn't care less.

It's not that I have anything against it, but many do. The reason: It does help those kids who are disciplined students, but many freshman and sophmores and even juniors need some structure if not A LOT of structure because they are mature enough to manage their own time. I think a couple years ago ...

What in the name of Wayne Gretzky is Goose talking about now? We were making the point there are other more important reasons to choose a school other than hockey. Where did the arrogance card come in? For your own mental health, please try fixating on something else other than your perceived Tech a...

Fair enough. Notice I said "if" it was meant to imply that. The whole point is that kids go to St. Cloud schools for a variety of reasons, often having nothing to do with hockey. One earlier post says several players should have stayed with private schools and they could have had the experience of p...

If the last post was meant to mean more "exposure" on an A team than an average (at best) AA team, it didn't seem to keep R. J. Linder, Travis Winter and Johnny Swanson from getting enough notice to play D1 hockey, with a few others playing DIII. Let's face it 99 percent of kids aren't going to play...

God, here comes youth hockey again with Goose's assertion that some didn't play on Bantam A because of attitudes.....funny that they told the association it was the coach (who the defectors had never played for) and others said financial reasons. So either they lied or you got your facts wrong. 98 p...

Goose: If you want to whine or debate youth hockey, why don't you take it on the youth hockey message board? This is a high school board. People keep referring to "this group" or whatever. It doesn't belong on this board or thread. Let the district and the state governing bodies make the decision. T...

Hartmanns did switch to Apollo, whch would make sense, since the live on the northside. Besides, Apollo had some talented players when Matt switched over to go there. They had enough talent to go to state but didn't. Coaching? That seems to be the usual suspect from reading others on this board.
