Re: Minnesota Hockey cut-off dates

It worked fine for the kids and only seemed to bother a few parents, likely the ones lobbying to get rid of the single class state tournaments.

Hearing from a good source that Motzko is indeed going back to SCC.

Motzko, the next Kittleson? I hope not, that is sad stuff to watch. GB

Boltmann 90% on way to Blmgtn, Illinois for Juniors.
Cake, I will bet you two rounds of golf at Interlachen that Boltmann doesn't go to Blmgtn to play Juniors next year. In fact If he does go to Bloomington I will treat you to two rounds at Spring Hill. Bet? GB

Re: Checking in bantams

I think whatever age checking is done for youth hockey should be the first time kids can use non-wooden sticks. Take the cost out of hockey! The use of wooden sticks will save at least $2K per player who enters Bantams. It won't set back any development for the kids. GB

GB, consistent with rumors I was hearing.

But, KP may be fishing for other Lake conference prospects??
I'm all for growing Catholicism in the Western Suburbs, just would prefer the growth comes from Brazil, Kenya or Edina. GB

O'Leary over the weekend didn't seem too grumpy so I don't anticipate the number of Wayzata hockey players converting to Catholicism this year like last. GB

Re: State Tournament Contest 2019

I like White Bear over Blaine. Didn't pull the trigger on that one though. I haven't commented on the official game thread but I feel The Bears are a little bit under appreciated and they do have a good squad. Also, think how Blaine has done in the tourney the past few times. GB

Re: Duluth East at Andover, Section 7AA Final

I will say, Ricky Lyle played the game of his Life last night, ☝️2 goals and either 1 or 2 assists, including the pass on the GWG, that was such a good pass (even) RD could finish it😉 Especially Ricky & FH Paine, led their team to a win over a faster, more flashy team by playing smash mouth hockey,...

Re: Duluth East at Andover, Section 7AA Final

Ok, honestly please help me understand how 7AA is a northern section? There are more "southern" teams then northern teams. Yeah, I know tradition is that way back in the day section 7 WAS a northern section, but landscape of the teams have changed since then. While the bus ride is part of equation,...

Re: Duluth East at Andover, Section 7AA Final

This game belongs in Duluth. It's a northern section. These finals are priceless. The fans show up; the games are close; why would you want to tinker with it? One of the best things going in high school sports. The Elk River's and Andover's of the section need to win it on the ice. GB

Re: 6AA Final — Edina v BSM

Couple of thoughts while watching game. As Doc stated, the Edina defense had a wall at their blue-line and made it so difficult for Benilde forwards to enter zone. Very impressive. Also, I have seen Edina play four times this year and it was by far the most physical game I've seen them play. They fi...
