Alex may be the best team in Central Lakes conference. They are starting to build a pretty solid ground up program. Guessing they are a year or two away from moving to 8AA, and will be in it for the long haul.

If East can get solid tending they may be a little under valued right now. They were right there with Rapids most of the youth years but had a few guys go different ways in Bantams that is kind of forgotten.

plus the East coaching is always worth a + or two.

I think, especially in the second half, teams are not going to want to play Roseau. Several youngsters that will only get better and team speed like they haven't had in years. Elliot can say they are not good but he may eat those words by year end. Roseau isn't to bad. TRF's goalie stole a win from...

Tell me again what the downside of the AA/A split is again? So we want Cloquets Bantam AA team from this year to fill their season with games vs Proctor, Hibbing and Silver Bay? I'm just excited the HP 14s will be playing in Duluth the weekend of April 22nd. I wish more HP festivals would play in D...

if you just want a balance model...

the bantam elite league just about has nailed that with north teams and the metro draft. in fact for this year they had to split the north to make it fair.

I'm a level 5 coach and while I wouldn't say I've learned nothing, I will say this, what I have invested into coaching classes both financially and time wise is not worth the education I have received. I think most of us who coach wouldn't mind these requirements as much if they were actually worth...

Re: Stars & Stripes Schedule

Steeldogs have a game on Thursday and Friday during the day, which will cause kids to miss school on both days. This is the issue that ticks most parents off. It's not summer yet, kids are still in school. If it was summer I would say, yeah, sucks to play on Thursday but we'll live. As for hotels, ...

Well played MN Made...schedule teams for 1 game thurs & then 1 game friday or saturday...works well for stay and play. I guess the old 2 - 2 - 2 fri / sat / sun just not pulling enough hotel revenue because everyone knows there is plenty of ice. http://www.minnesotamadehockey.com/page/show/90166...

The Elite League should be all over this. If they had a playoff system in the fall league and the winner of that punched a ticket to AAA Nationals it may be a great opprotunity to further legitimize the league.

It might push some coaches / managers in the league to really look for talent.
