7 of the 22 guys on the 2010 Olympic team played for the USNTDP. It has been around long enough (since 1996) that if they really were producing the best players the numbers should be better. Rafalski and Tim Thomas are older than the USNTDP prgram window but would have never been invited anyway. Bot...

Most of the AHL teams make money too. I believe Bridgeport missed the playoffs by one spot the year he was brought in. If Kyle would have had enough to push them into the playoffs and get them a couple more home games he for sure makes them money even in the A. Did he put extra butts in the stands t...

From Schlossman- You will probably hear athletic directors use the “like-minded schools” line at Wednesday’s press conference in discussing why this new league is happening. While administrators may not expand on that line, a source told the Herald that when business was conducted in the Western Col...

There are 30 teams in the NHL and with the 30th pick in the 2nd round MN makes a move up? 29 teams pass on him with their 2nd rd pick but MN who had the luxury of 2 1st round picks takes a chance on him. Good move a risk they could take. I am not saying he is not deserving of it at all but had he b...

your seed are wrong They look right to me, except he forgot to show Notre Dame's seeding position (No. 11 in Manchester, NH). no in the next round it should be 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, and 4v5. This is the NCAA's. Teams are moved around, in this case BC, based on the criteria in place. His seedings are correct

They made their mark on the state tournament scene with three consecutive appearances from 1949-51, finishing runner-up twice. They also made the Region 8 semifinals in five straight years in the early 50’s. ...

Let's be P.C. here. Everybody is a champion..... Class A is the JV, and I can't even call them the JV champs, because they don't allow the AA JV teams to compete in a state tournament. Nuff said. Yeah, Class A teams led by the likes of TJ Oshie, Brock Nelson, Blake Wheeler, Jordan Schroeder,...

Lou's exceptionally knowledgeable and sees the little things that make watching the game with him interesting. I think the fact that his grandson plays for Edina (and another for Minnetonka, I believe) is actually an advantage. He's seen a number of these teams and players play this year, and over ...

Don't bother looking at the pairwise. Minnesota can actually get all 8 points the next two weeks and fall in the rankings. This team has only one shot of advancing and that is winning the Final Five. Getting all 8 points will help them in not only the rankings but also the WCHA standings. They need...

If STA wants to be a class A school, why do they schedule mostly AA in non-conference games? Really don't see the challenge for them to stay A. So many? Have you even looked that their schedule? Outside of Cretin, they schedule all of ONE non-conference AA team. They play in the Schwan Cup; are you...

Re: Lyons
The kid can play between the pipes. Bottom line is he stops the puck! Any coach would love to have a tender do just that! I am not sure about Lyon's stats. Two games show 0 shots on goal. I suppose at the last minute they will 'fix' that and thus secure his lead in save %............. That has got ...

3 years running of no NCAAs-can't make this year even if they win out the regular season. Maybe now they'll start recruiting outside of minnesotas borders? Gone are the days where you're going to consistently win with all Minnesota kids- too many other teams come in and get the majority of top kids...

The NAHL's couple of dozen clubs more than likely has staff entering live information, whereas the Hub is relying on volunteers that include high school managers and such...not to mention it's coming from 150+ different teams. It's like comparing apples and oranges in my book. I doubt the NAHL has ...

I got it I got it... let's have the State Champs from A and AA play each other in a MSHSL sanctioned game. Winner gets bragging rights. That would force the privates to man up... like that would ever happen though. This is the annual dumbest post right after the State Tourney. A team runs a gauntle...
