Re: The First Girls' Youth Hockey Team?

In Rochester in 1995, the state was awarding Mighty Ducks money to youth hockey organization. One stipulation was that there had to be a girls team. On a weekday evening there was an information meeting regarding the possibility of a girls hockey team. Myself just having moved to Rochester with 2 fi...

Having known Marci for a long time she will be missed. Not always politically correct, but she always wanted one thing from her players, max effort. This was not for wins or losses, but for individuals to leave everything on the ice and work as hard as they can so they could be the best player they ...

As the first coach and commissioner of girls hockey in 1996, I cannot believe the state high school hockey is in. As a city with plenty of rinks and a decent population there must be Eason they can't develop talented players. I understand that it's hard to play a Winona and then a Lakeview team. I k...

To quote myself: "Fact. They didn't field TEAMS this summer on any level." Not being hostile, just kinda of tired of you putting things out there that you clearly don't know much about. You will come back with some mean comment as you usually do, and that''s ok, its expected. To say thing...

Clearly I am "not well versed in Tier hockey." Lol. Still pretty sure AA/BE/Rev have fielded summer teams under their own name/names in the past. "Our schedule" - what schedule is that? CYA and non-CYA CYA? And not being eligible to play for the national championship sure seems ...

Everyone is talking about BE but no one knows what's really up. Fact - they didn't field teams this summer at any level. Some not playing, many others scattered around various OS, Blades, etc. teams. Generally "known" (but not at all known) is that they only had provisional tier 1 status ...

Like when during Lake Placid tryouts when 8 Benilde players were chosen for 16 slots of which the main evaluator was from Benilde. Any details to back this up? What year, what level, and who was the "main evaluator"? I believe it was 1998. Tryouts were held at Eden Prairie, Marci Bydlon w...

Also, not sure what u12s angle would be in stating the above list of schools were in attendance, but everyone else who was there seems to agree there were less than 5 all weekend and only 2 at the final. I've learned enough about this program now that I won't involve my youngest, when and if she's ...

Web site showing Section 5 over Section 6 in the third place game, 4-2 final. 36guys kid nets 2 in the loss. My sources have Section 7 winning the final 6-2 over Section 4. Re: U18s mens national roster question

Why isn't there more Minnesotan's on this roster, I just see one backup goalie listed. I'm not sure what the selection process is but I would imagine there was top talent here in MN missed... Can someone explain how USA Hockey works? http://u18mensworlds.usahockey.com/news_article/show/500432?refer...

I've heard St Francis and St Paul United are looking for new coaches. Where did the SPU coach go? I thought he was doing a great job? He was forced out by the AD and a few parents. What a shame as Dave is a good coach that cared about his team. Lucky for SPU, there are lines of qualified, good peop...

Sorry but no women's hockey coach should be paid over $200,000 per year. Women's hockey is not a revenue generating sport. Her ability to win championships and coach Olympic caliber women should enable her to find another job quickly or even a spot with USA Hockey Women's Development. Coach Miller ...
