Re: The First Girls' Youth Hockey Team?
In Rochester in 1995, the state was awarding Mighty Ducks money to youth hockey organization. One stipulation was that there had to be a girls team. On a weekday evening there was an information meeting regarding the possibility of a girls hockey team. Myself just having moved to Rochester with 2 fi...

Having known Marci for a long time she will be missed. Not always politically correct, but she always wanted one thing from her players, max effort. This was not for wins or losses, but for individuals to leave everything on the ice and work as hard as they can so they could be the best player they ...

As the first coach and commissioner of girls hockey in 1996, I cannot believe the state high school hockey is in. As a city with plenty of rinks and a decent population there must be Eason they can't develop talented players. I understand that it's hard to play a Winona and then a Lakeview team. I k...

Also, not sure what u12s angle would be in stating the above list of schools were in attendance, but everyone else who was there seems to agree there were less than 5 all weekend and only 2 at the final. I've learned enough about this program now that I won't involve my youngest, when and if she's ...

Re: 17's
Web site showing Section 5 over Section 6 in the third place game, 4-2 final. 36guys kid nets 2 in the loss. My sources have Section 7 winning the final 6-2 over Section 4. Section 7 with a roster of zero committed players and all public school attendees wins the title, go figure. Thanks Shaver. I ...

Re: U18s mens national roster question
Why isn't there more Minnesotan's on this roster, I just see one backup goalie listed. I'm not sure what the selection process is but I would imagine there was top talent here in MN missed... Can someone explain how USA Hockey works? http://u18mensworlds.usahockey.com/news_article/show/500432?refer...

I've heard St Francis and St Paul United are looking for new coaches. Where did the SPU coach go? I thought he was doing a great job? He was forced out by the AD and a few parents. What a shame as Dave is a good coach that cared about his team. Lucky for SPU, there are lines of qualified, good peop...

Associations that work the hardest on recruiting are growing girls hockey. Some associations have been slow to grasp the new approach of doing extensive pro-active recruiting of both boys and girls. Much different than 10-15 years ago when associations didn't have to worry about the new extra effor...

If you want to compete against USA Hockey registered teams you will need to the permission of the USA Hockey affiliate which in this case is Mn Hockey. For the 2014-15 season Mn Hockey did not have a written policy for Tier I programs and would have lost in court if teams were denied. Now that Mn H...

When can we talk about the new coach that will hired? Is it to soon? I think a former Bulldog that is coaching out east now would be the perfect fit. Sorry but no women's hockey coach should be paid over $200,000 per year. Women's hockey is not a revenue generating sport. Her ability to win championships and coach Olympic caliber women should enable her to find another job quickly or even a spot with USA Hockey Women's Development. Coach Miller ...
