It is mathematically possible, but in reality the odds are extremely slim. The Gophers are going to be on the road in the 1st round.

Worth a gamble if he takes an incentive-laden deal, but a lot of people feel his knee is wrecked beyond repair. He is a big name but he can't expect much dough because he is a huge risk.

Bernard Berrian in for a visit today, along with RB/KR Maurice Hicks.

Justin Smith and ex-Gopher Thomas Tapeh expected later today or tomorrow.

Also rumored that the Vikes already have a deal in place with Madieu Williams. Should be a busy day. :D

Vikings offered a third rounder for Sage Rosenfels . Quite a good deal if it happens, he's a capable starter, then go sign wide out D.J Hackett in free agency. Then a DE(Justin Smith or Odom from the Titans.) Who is Sage Rosenfels? :? Backup QB for the Texans who played well in extended action for ...

I saw something that said Schroeder is going to be there in '09. Then again, I suppose everything can change with early departures. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pq-RP3oulY40QD4LEtZ3kFg&gid=3 He was a 2009 for over a year but this past summer he decided to accelerate and come in '08. I hate to say it but if you are looking at recruits from just Minnesota, the Gophers have a little better class for the 08-09 season. The edge may swing back to UND for the 09-10 season with Kristo, Fink, and D. Mattson scheduled to arrive. Granted Schroeder and Budish should also be on campus for ...

RJ's made strides this year and he has become a pretty dependable player. He has not reached the level he was expected to out of Centennial and likely is not going to, but he is not going to be a bust either. Next year I'd expect he takes on a similar role and it will be a luxury to have a 4th-6th d...

His development hasn't been what they expected and he has been surpassed by many defenseman in the Wild system. If they let him re-enter the draft, they get the 40th overall pick in this year's draft which at this point they value more than Thelen. At Michigan State he was caught drinking several ti...

Torri's going to want too much money. He's going to want more than his current contract offers him, and the Twins aren't going to be able to afford that and Torri really isn't worth 16-18 mil per year.

Good point IS, but the Twins aren't competing against those teams they're competing against the Tigers, Indians, and White Sox. 2 of those 4 teams will make the playoffs. We look for Nathan to turn it around but he has been boarderline brutal this season, giving up 19 hits and 5 walks in 13 innings...

He hasn't signed yet. The shoulder injury may have delayed any decision he makes. Rumor is he is not a big fan of the Pittsburgh organization and would have turned pro after last season if his rights were owned by a different team. That's just hearsay though. Pittsburgh doesn't lose his rights if he...

Good cuz he was OVERRATED He was the BY FAR the best defenseman in the nation as a Freshman. A D-man can't win a national championship by himself. I voted Slowey. I think he has the least risk at this point, and I would like to see that after the Ponson fiasco. Garza's potential intrigues me, but I'd give the nod to Slowey and let Garza develop his other pitches down at AAA for another month or so.

I can understand the apprehension over the pick of Rice over Jarrett. But if you put Rice at USC and Jarrett in South Carolina and the Vikes passed on Rice for Jarrett, would you second guess that pick as well? Rice and Allison could be two future starting WR's for this team. Throw in AP and a hopef...

You're right, Moss' hamstring is the key. If it's good he'll be a force. Randy isn't done and he isn't old yet. I don't recall any criticizms of him going over the middle his first few years in the league. With Moss' hands, speed, and leaping ability he can be a star again even if the guts are abse...

New England is probably one of the better places for him to succeed, and I think he will have a certain modicum of success, but I can't see him being a Pro-Bowler that some have tabbed him as for this season. He really thrived when Denny Green was in Minnesota and just let Moss sprint downfield whil...

The problem with Crain is that he is a 1-inning guy and Gardy throws him out there for more than 1 most of the time. Some guys just can't take that period of rest in between innings, and Crain seems to be one of them.

I liked the draft. AP was the best available player by far period. Rice is going to be a work in progress, but would have been a 1st rounder had he stayed as dangla alluded to. McCauley adds depth to the defensive backfield and could have easily gone in the 2nd. The Vikes are clearly not going to b...
