STA

People will complain about this call or that call. Sometimes things don't go your way. It is too bad for Hermantown, but what a great time and great run and they will be back in the future. What I would like to say is that I am happy STA is joining the AA ranks as they should be....I think it will b...

A very good team Goldy. Memorial has some nice creative forwards, some sound D, and a very good goalie. I agree, Roch kids are soft and RYHA's 'development' is poor for all the youth players. I just think so many people fear Lourdes and their speed. The defining moment is when the Sr. Captain D-man ...

Well the MO for beating Lourdes is just be physical and don't give them any space to work with - they simply do not like being hit and they will take stupid penalties once the frustration sets in

2003? What does that have to do with what I said? You are right. The JM kid that transferred 1/2 through 9th grade and had to sit out a year must have been thinking about playing with his Winona bantam buddy Funk right? I'm sure the Samuelson kid was thinking that all along when his bantam coach - n...

Century 4

So if Eastview beats Century in the consolation game, the 3 Roch public schools will finish 6, 7, 8! Great job RYHA!!!

Wow did the recruits look good taking it to DC yesterday 6-1!

The JM/Century/Winona line had all 6 goals!!! Woo hoo! I'm sure that 'Head Coach' JS was really proud!!

Granted I have not seen all the teams play but the Big Nine sure looks terrible this year.

West - good, but not great
AL - ditto
Century - ditto
JM - avg to below avg
Fairbo - ditto
Mayo - ditto
Owatonna - bad
Winona - bad
Austin - terrible
East - terrible

Russia vs. Canada is like Mayo vs. DC - equal talent and both had games where one team was flat and uninspired. Both games were not close, so obviously the Russian coaches are bad too

Man those Russian coaches sure do stink!
How do you not get your team prepared for games?
They really need to develop those players!

Exactly, Nystrom gets an entire bantam A team with some good skill, goalies who were coached at the youth level, and molds them into a team. This year they split with Mayo with an entire bantam team at his disposal. This year Mayo had 2 guys that ever played bantam A hockey. Most of the players are ...

How could a team come out so flat and apathetic? Especially when that team has that many seniors - no matter the talent level? That ultimately comes down to the players being ready to play. Does an athlete really ever need a coach to pumped them up to compete? Yes, some players do, but athletes do n...

Mayo has played their best hockey down the stretch and should be able to win this one. I think Mayo will be rested from not playing Saturday.

It seems the coaches looked at the big win Owatonna had over Winona and ignored the 2 losses the Huskies had against Mayo.
I would love to see how each coach seeded each team.

I bet we have an all Lakevilke final, just a hunch I guess.

That is all speculation. One thing that I know, this is one confusing year. With that said, I doubt Owatonna can be seeded ahead of Mayo if they lost twice to Mayo. The first thing to look at is the head to head. Remember when Century got seeded ahead of Mayo 2 years ago even though Century only had...

It is too early to predict seeds as anything can still happen. One thing that hurts Mayo is that the conference games are different than in past seasons. However, games like Owatonna over Winona make seeding difficult. You never know how the coaches will seed teams. Everyone will be overlooking Mayo...

Lorne Grosso - Mayo 600+ wins and he has never had his own youth program/feeder system. RYHA is slanted toward Century and Lourdes. He also teaches kids how to be good people as they become adults. Randy Schmitz - Lakeville North - never has that much talent but his teams always compete and are play...
