Will GE be in uniform for the Red Knights?
This is an interesting one. I figured it would be hard to stay where he was and still pursue hockey. A nice player I saw with both Blizzard 18U and Fall Tier I 16U. He'll do well wherever he plays.

3. Cretin 4. Blake I'll eat my hat if the Raiders have a better season than Blake. Obviously Gleason is an incredible HS player, but last season he looked mainly frustrated against good teams because they couldn't muster much of an attack. Blake should be awfully good. They aren't so young anymore.

Re: Top 5 Goaltenders

CakeScout,

What was your assessment of Wolfe? I thought he played very well in the games when he was given an opportunity. Surprised he wasn't used more.

As for next year, Sebek is the real deal. Pretty sure he didn't give up at goal at the State tournament and is also at Natty Camp.

Do tell. How could anyone leave the single greatest hockey program of our time.
He did tell, although it is so clever that you'd have to be familiar with the players in the program to catch it.

I wonder what the percentage of accuracy is on all these “rumors”. You are on to something. I hear a lot and wouldn't think of posting because the families involved in these matters should be able to make it known on their own timeline. That said, a lot of what I hear isn't accurate or was once acc...

Oh wait. Blake has never won a state tournament! Are the deep enough this year to beat SCC in the Ship? Goaltending? If SCC is St. Cloud Cathedral, the Ship of what? I haven't seen Blake's schedule. Goaltending what? Blake has Reid. Doubt they'll give up anything all season to their opponent in net...

Besides , Blake home ice is on the Hopkins campus 🤔
The school is across the street from Parade Stadium, Parade Park & Parade Ice Garden. Sure looks like a home game.

Awesome for Blake. Basically adjacent to the campus. I was a year early getting so excited about them for 2019. Pretty sure they'll be a top team 2020.

I'll be shocked if Wisconsin is a factor. Hard to win NCAA games when you rely on young guys. BU is a recent example.

Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season

North Dakota rules seem pretty restrictive if a kid whose family never moved isn't allowed back to play a Varsity sport after a season of Midget hockey while living with a host family.

This has probably been posted before, but take a look at this article:

Different evaluators watch the same thing and form a very different opinion.
That is a great article.

Re: State of Hockey's Team

I think Westy's overall take is more a tongue-in-cheek comment re: the collective perception of 'lazy recruiting' in Don's later years w/ the Gophs. Lazy is the term I used too. A Gopher assistant had a son playing District 6 hockey and several standout Bantams were given offers young. That filled ...

Re: State of Hockey's Team

While Edina is a premier program with huge amounts of talent, it’s simply not good for the culture of the gophers to have so many kids from the same high school at the same time- whether that’s Edina, Deast , Hill or anyone else An interesting take. Dylan Malmquist, Deekay, Casey Dornbach, Henry Bo...

Motzko should change the vibe and culture.. I'm supportive of the Gophers and that won't change. I don't believe Bob Motzko or anyone else has the ability to lower the expectations to a realistic level. BC, BU, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota...if it were easy for these programs to rule co...

They went back to the Frozen Four in 2005, 2012, and 2014, reaching the final in that last year. He won a conference regular season championship every year from 2012 through 2017 (and yes, the last four were in the weaker Big Ten, but the first two of those were in the WCHA). This is when I realize...

From what I hear, UW-River Falls pretty much cut all there Tier III Junior players this spring. Apparently Tier III Juniors isn't enough anymore either even for DIII hockey.

Re: State of Hockey's Team

Honestly I think it is dumb that you have to play multiple years of juniors to play D3 hockey. NCAA D3 should make a freshman age limit of 19. You've just taken away the incentive for a kid not Div. I committed upon completion of HS to even try to get there. I fail to see what is so evil about a ki...

Re: NDTP Invites MN edition

The one thing that may effect these stats is the number of Europeans and Canadians now jumping into NCAA hockey. If that number continues to grow, it will have an influence on the number of Minnesota kids getting a D-1 offer My understanding is Europeans are growing, but still just a trace. Canadia...
