Re: covid and MH

WOM - my point was that we can't point you to a study or data that says hockey is safe during a pandemic. No study has been conducted. So instead, I ask for decisions to be made based on relative danger compared to other activities in society. And certainly relative to the dangers that a shut-down p...

Re: covid and MH

The problem is, none of those on the “it’s no big deal”/“just open it up”/“kids hardly ever have bad outcomes or die from this” side of the debate ever acknowledge or are willing/able to provide real facts from legitimate experts to support their positions/opinions. I’ve said a number of times now ...

Re: XPL

So you paid for 10 games. $21 per game. You played 7 games. $30 per game. The league provided a service. Refunds would be difficult. They may have encountered unforeseen costs, or they will be able to charge a little less for a future program. Frankly, the rate at which they put this whole league t...

Thanks. I was familiar with that site. I was thinking of being able to view something like old newspapers from Roseau/Warroad to view the different accounts of game from their hometown newspaper. Off the top of my head, would also like to look at old newspapers from I Falls, Rapids, Hibbing, Virgin...

Re: XPL

So the XPL is shut down due to the pause. Teams played roughly half of the scheduled 10 games. They have no intention of making up the games but also will not be refunding the players. Their reasoning: we are unable to refund money to participants for the cancellations due to the Covid pandemic. The...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

It is becoming more obvious that the source is correct and that most schools (at least High Schools) around the state will be going full-time remote learning very soon if they're not already. You just have to follow the link below, they update this every Thursday. Basically, if the county that your ...

WOM and Hunter win. My inside source says all schools will be shut down in a week or two. Walz will also shut down bars and restaurants. Your local YMCA and gyms closed also. Sad deal
Do you mind divulging your source? At least what industry/agency he/she works in? Will ice arenas be shut down?

Blatantly violating recruiting rules ≠ working hard.

Are you saying none of the girls on the HF team would go on to play D1 without Randy?

Re: Transfers 20-21

If I can read between the lines, you're looking for respect for HF girls hockey? The only way to earn it is to win. And they haven't done that yet. One playoff win (against Jefferson) in two years of existence (sans co-op). I'm not saying they won't win, you're right, there is a bright future with t...

Good for HF for stepping up their schedule a little bit this year with games against Blake, BSM, Hill-Murray, Edina, & Wayzata but they still have 2/3 of their games against Dodge Co, Jefferson, Delano, Hutchinson, New Prague, Litchfield, Waconia, etc.

We are just starting the pre season games in a few weeks. I think Maddy wanted to settled in before the season. Like I said before we will be going to state this year. There will be more transferring over.

Why would she leave Andover? And school has been in session for over a month, why "just in time before the season starts"?

Via email today, this isn’t exactly what I thought the league would be. With the Girls High School season now scheduled to start on November 30th the Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association (MGHCA) is offering an opportunity for High School Girls to participate in the XPL. This League will consis...

No spectators for indoor events is the MDH guidelines.
No it's not. I have been to 10 different arenas in the past month to watch hockey, apparently those 10 (city-owned) arenas are all defying government recommendations?

is the flip of boys and girls hockey to allow boys go play juniors after? they will have lots of games with juniors starting later
I read that Volleyball goes later than Football so they want to try to avoid that overlap.

Said no crowd because many areas the school and rink are the same and like gyms and pools no crowd is allowed. If this is their logic, it doesn't make sense. High school gyms are always located in the school. I can think of very few arenas that are school property and/or located on school grounds. ...

Yes you search hard enough you will find an organization that will take your money so your kid can play hockey. The Money making organizations (NAHL, USHL, tier teams, AAA teams) won’t worry about your kids health but yes they will happy to take your money. You don't think MN Hockey/USA Hockey are ...

But I would be willing to bet that if there is no MSHSL hockey season this year, similarly, arenas will not ...
