A word about Richfield. Met some great people, the kids played hard, their coaches were class acts. They gave Wayzata Blue everything they had and came up short 2-0. Today Minnetonka handled them but that doesn't take anything away from that team. Congrats on a great showing and good luck in the fut...

No one can predict what can happen at this point. Would anyone have picked Richfield to make State? No, but that team has heart and played hard and earned the right to be there. Would anyone predict anything other than a Blake/Wayzata Blue Final - not likely. They seem to be the the two best teams.....

Wow!

Never would have thought both EP teams lose tonight!

Eagle Guy, what gives? Bad night or just two fired up competitors?

DG Bantam A

I am going out on the limb here. I believe that the hottest team - outside of the top two (begin with the letter E) is Minnetonka.

The team seems to be getting better with each game. It will be fun to see how they fare. I believe they will make it to state.

D6 Tourney

Ok, how does it work in D6? If three teams go to to State, it sems like you can clearly id 2 but how is the third picked? Can anyone offer insight here?

Koho, Blueblood

So we brothers are clear - by "backing in" I meant - Tonka had the chance to "Win and be in" - they didn't. In tieing Chaska they lost the ability to control their destiny. When AV and Bville tied, and Bville lost the HEP point, Tonka "backed in", that is all. My apolog...

Beep, Beep, Beep

That is the sound of Tonka backing in to the #1 seed. Doubt it will be easy going forward from here.

Thanks Apple Valley and Mr. NoCon!

Great write up from our correspondent hockeyjunkie2

I am going out on a limb here, but Woodsticksniper, I am guessing you are not a goalie parent? Am I right about that?

Just a hunch.

Rankings

Bear13 - I think you are on to someting - what I see is that teams can't really differentiate themselves from week to week, and are inconsistent. The only consistent team is Wayzata Blue. I would say that Blake, while clearly good, isn't much different from some of the others in group 3, but won't q...

A point of view

Brothers of the board:

I think we are better to focus on aspects of our kids' game that don't include references to specific players, their numbers or their behavior.
Reasonable people can view the same game and see different aspects or issues, personal frustration notwithstanding.

D6 Results

Tonka 3 Apple Valley 0

A win is a win. AV coach received a game misconduct. Not sure why exactly...I think he was unhappy about something.

Star of North

Sorry Blue... Tonka lost in a shootout 2-1 to Moorehead (you will recall the coaches). Tonka woke up in the third and the OT and had lots of chances to win - tieing the game with about 5 mins left in regulation. Every shootout makes someone happy and in this case it was Moorhead. The skippers grabbe...

Blue: Do not arrive until tomorrow. However, and entire Battalion is purported to have descended upon GR today. By this time, the dice may be rolling and the BS flowing. Will arrive JIT for action Friday and hopefully we can beat a tough Maple Grove squad, they tested us at the Silver Stick. Will pr...

BB Sighting

Steely eyed, resplendent in his Skipper jacket, striding purposefully towards Pagel on Sunday was none other than Blueblood! Can it then be any surprise that the Skippers turned up with their most inpsired performance in weeks? We need you Blue! The Skippers finish the season at Pagel, every game. W...

Tonka

Ah, Blueblood. The wisdom of experience!

Alas, the level of perspiration generated this past week in Bloomington was rather low. Other teams are gathering momentum as the Skippers lose some of theirs.

Tonights' test will be telling. Do the Hawks fly or will their wings be clipped?

Your son,

Game Scores

Tonka - 2
Edina White -2

Tonka, strong start, more shots, could not get the puck in the net...

Another "fall behind, and catch up..." story

Frustrating team...they need the killer instinct be successful - get an early lead and build upon it.

I wonder who will step up for this team?
