Re: Janne Kivihalme Out at Lakeville South
Janne is an incredible coach and even better at player development. Most of the people on this board don’t know this, but before he was involved with Burnsville/Lakeville he coached the 1995 Icemen from the ground up (Mites-Highschool). Few players of note that spent most of the years with the team:...

Re: Hill-Murray Update
This is ridiculous. Glad they lawyered up. If they have no positive tests they should be able to play.

Re: Maple Grove vs Blake
I think it's more disappointing that the ref who was over 100 feet away makes that call. I think as a coach, fan, etc. you simply ask for consistency in calls..if down by a G MG may not have been in position for that second penalty call anyway - as with the limited time left and down a goal you hav...

Re: Maple Grove vs Blake
The guy did commit a slash.. delay of game is iffy Not a chance. Also you have to call the two missed holding calls on Blake a few minutes before then. At that point you swallow your whistle unless someone is hauled down on a breakaway or it is a bad check from behind. Except that the stick came do...

Re: Maple Grove vs Blake
Nice officiating. That should NEVER be called that late in a game. Absolute joke. That ref should not touch the ice again. If you think it prevented a goal and he wasn't pushed, you have to call that penalty. In real-time I thought it should've been delay of game too, but he was for sure pushed aft...

Re: Ramsey
With Ramsey already on their list, the guys running the camp must of been sweating with each game going "come on Ramsey, 3 points in 2 camps ain't going to do it" is it too late to change him to a D? Meanwhile guys like Bergh and Brown, with 4 goals each this camp will have extra golf time this sum...

Raskob didn't try out either yet also advanced. The politics involved in these "try-outs" really tarnish the credibility of the tournament. I wonder what the rosters would look like if the evaluators were from out of state, didn't know any player's names, and based the criteria only on the weekend ...

Like I said.."Lineup". Many of the player listed as playing DIII don't end up playing more than 10 games in 4 years, or even end up playing for more than a year, but end up getting "counted". Many MIAC teams carry as many as 35 players. Many of the Division I players that the MNJHL touts play for M...

Earlier today I posted about all the typical Junior routes from Minnesota players on my blog. It's mostly my opinion, supported by the leagues statistics of college commitments, but feel free to check it out. http://mnpuckblog.blogspot.com/ 20+ MNJHL alumni have gone D-1 since 2000 200+ alumni have...

The league Keegan is playing is pays players basically a stipend. Some players get paid lucrative deals, but only the cream of the crop. Keegan will be required to go to high school by the team, and will receive an education package depending on the amount of years he plays. His education package is...

The pace in a high caliber High School hockey game doesn't even compare to the USHL. Don't believe me? Go watch one in person. Doesn't even compare. Development wise, it is a no brainer. BUT, you have to take into account schooling, family situation, etc in order to make your decision. Again, for so...
