Tonka only lost 6 seniors and 2 of them didn't contribute much. I don't know how much JV results matter, but their JV did extremely well. G might be a question mark but Behounek did play in 8 games so he doesn't come in all that much less tested than Glockner did last season.

Of course there are players leaving early. My point was has it been 'worse' on average the past few years?

Lucia has expressed strong interest in playing all 4 MN Div I teams annually. Don't know how realistic that would be to schedule, but it could lessen some of the blow.

There are 30 teams in the NHL and with the 30th pick in the 2nd round MN makes a move up? 29 teams pass on him with their 2nd rd pick but MN who had the luxury of 2 1st round picks takes a chance on him. Good move a risk they could take. I am not saying he is not deserving of it at all but had he b...

No Slap Shot, I didn't miss BBB's comment. But it came after and in response to to my comment that you quoted. Dude, it was quoted in the same post (made prior) to your reply and included within: There must be a glitch in the back end of this website because my computer didn't show anything relatin...

Relax, BBB. From the mid 70's on I have been told year after year that soccer is going to be a major sport in this country. More recently, I've been told that lacrosse is really growing. If someone wants to play lacrosse, that's great. It's a fine sport. I don't believe it will ever have a great ho...

I don't know how much JV matters vs. Bantam A's, but Tonka's JV had a very good record last year.

Someone else made a pretty good point - would the a MN elite FB team be able to compete regulary with a TX elite team? No chest-thumping required, but imho on average the elite MN class would beat the elite WI class more often than not.

I said in another thread that MHS should not get trapped and look past Jefferson given their next two games and they perhaps have done just that.

As good as they are playing it's hard to bet heavily that Tonka will make it out of the meat grinder that is 6AA. They are certainly good enough but that is one hell of a section to assume a favorite.

At what point was "old time hockey" a part of h.s. games? Fighting doesn't belong in h.s. period.

Will be interesting to see where Tonka ends up next weekend. Jefferson clearly isn't the team they used to be, but the Skippers cannot overlook them with Edina and EP on the horizon. imho they need to do better against EP this time around to be considered as high as #2.

Re: How much do JV results matter?

I know someone on the Tonka JV and so I decided to take a peek at their results for the first time. I saw that they have 1 tie and no losses according to the hub through 19 games. I know that not all teams have all their scores reported, but how much do JV results matter for the future, or should o...

I think Baskin and Rothstein (21 pts each) at least deserve mention (while not being at the top of anyone's list). And Behounek has been good, albeit not against the stiffest of competition so he probably needs much more ice time to be really considered.
