In most junior leagues its 20 and under. Canadian major juniors allow 4 overagers per team I believe. This year I think that means they had to have been born in 91. This year if you check junior rosters there are very few 91's and mostly 92, 93, 94 and a few 95's. Most kids leaving high school can ...

My question is how many players is the National Development actually sending to the NHL and I mean the big show, not the AHL. It seems that a lot of the players coming out of there are not having as much success at the college level (Travis Boyd comes to mind). Quick to throw Boyd (who technically ...

Re: WHA

Does this list include WHA list from 72-79? Important as they were paid good wages. Regarding goalies: Canadian goalies leave home at 14 and are playing double the games during HS years 15-18 All MN goalies must go to juniors after high school to get more games and exposure as NO college or NHL sco...

However it will be interesting to see if Shuldt plays for tonka and if glover plays for BSM. This could impact if horton plays up front or not.
Schuldt is healthy, who knows if he'll play

I will take the grandson of Lou Nanne anyday of the week with a scholarship or without. The kid and the family is exactly what the gophers need. Louie will not leave college early, and it would shock me if Vinny left early too. The gophers need those talented players, that work hard, and that will ...

Tenover you kind of made my point for me, Ben was draft eligible last year, best case senario it he does great and signs as a free agent. I'm all for letting a kid chase his dream but from the outside looking in this one just doesn't seem to fit the mold. Best of luck to Ben, he has been a joy to w...

I reluctantly support Ben's choice if that is truly what he wants but he was hardly a dominating player in the elite league this fall. As a ten year old He was, IMO, the best player in the state but hasn't produced at nearly the same rate in the years since. The competition will be better but if I'...

Ben Walker from Edina would be a well-fit candidate. Depending on what kind of a season he has Bennie Walker is gone from Edina and is playing Major Jr. in Victoria, BC this season. He hasn't played a game yet, when did he leave?? Another Minnesotan is on the squad as well, Logan Nelson. Pretty sur...

Now more and more Mn hs aged kids are going to juniors to speed up their development and are being encouraged by college coaches and pro teams. 10-20 years ago hardly any player considered leaving hs, now I would say the elite players all look at that option. I would say in the near future, somebod...

Wes is a great kid and a hard worker. If this rumor is true it's possible that they feel he's got potential and can be developed. Either way I wish him nothing but the best! Interesting, he's a 96 birthday so he's not eligible to play this season (besides a small number which i don't know) so he'll...

If they took Jecha then people would be crying about having two goalies from Benilde. The elite honchos are in a tough spot, everyone thinks someone else deserves it over someone who got it. It is what it is, but all in all it's great for the MN kids... Oh yes,you got that right for sure. Elite D h...

I think it has to do with his grade. I remember Travis Boyd had the same problem, he was a freshman coming off an 8th grade year where he scored 45 points and didn't get a look...he played Blades that fall as well.

mngopherfan, Just a suggestion, but the tactful way to post inside information of that sort is to say "I was informed that it was a coaching decision." Then tell us that no apparent team or league rules were violated and assure us that he's not injured. There's no need to despoil a young ...
