Is it about team play and playing a position or individual skills? I heard Reebok jackets tell kids to play their position and move the puck but then it seems the kids picked are the ones that play more selfish and try going coast to coast with limited success. So is it better to fail 80% of the ti...

Again it is said that picks for NY are made off of the play from this weekend but everyone knows Minnesota Hockey has its favorites that no matter what will advance to NY, usually a big difference between who deserves and who actually That is too bad. Kids develop at different ages and picks should ...

Very true . Not only do the private schools need the athletes in multiple sports, but the Northern school wouldn't survive. Kudos to those athletes for showing some loyalty.

Agree ! These kids need to realize its not all about them. I can see it if its an OT winner, but other than that, grab your nearest teammate.

This is a coach letting the "Star" run up his stats. Didn't have the huge numbers during the season, so lets get em now vs. an inferior team. What would the conversation be if this kid was injured late in 2nd or 3rd ? Plain and simple, you do not let this happen. Put em on D if you really need the ...

This begs an interesting question to me. If the split never happened, Would the old section 8 have saw such a string of championships by two teams? It wouldn't have changed. Roseau and Moorhead have faired pretty well in the State tournament over the years. The only team that's close is this years ...

Some of the folk I've talked to said that East Grand Forks is the best team in 8A and AA when they get it going. Warroad and Thief River Falls are equally dangerous . Would be worth the time to see who really is the the best and have that team represent the section at AA State. This year AND...

Tech couldn't beat Bemidji this year and the Sheep couldn't beat the Taters, in 2 tries, this year, but Brainerd couldn't beat Roseau this year - so you probably got 1 right !
Awfully hard to beat the same team 3 times in a season. The Spuds will falter. Rams playing well and are just a bett...

Got chippy. Refs did a good job keeping things under control. I'll give the Rams credit, they played hard in 3rd and didn't give up.

Made the trip up to Roseau to cheer on the Skippers. Coatta definitely D-1 talent, great hands and vision. Yon (Roseau) will be a good pick up for for a D-1 school, fast and can really shoot.

From what I hear if Rams don't start to move the puck they won't get past the Spuds. Saw the same issue with Cloquet when they played WBL.

It was the best. The Silver Stick winners were always on the front of "Let's play Hockey" .. Back then Let's play hockey had a T.V. show. They would do a whole segment on the tourny. In its hey day, this was the most prominent tournament. It allowed everyone to see who the best teams in the state w...

Obviously there was a lot of emotion in last night's game for Hill, and that could certainly be a reason why they looked so good. Still, it's a bit unusual for Hill teams to be looking that good this early in the year, and that could be cause for concern for everyone else.
I agree. HM looked...

Lots of "cherry pickin" on that Cloquet team. That won't get wins against quality teams. WBL has a nice squad.

Holy Family, until they PROVE otherwise, could be the most overrated team in the State, IMO. Edina cruises to a win in this matchup.
