Sats, I suppose if a person wanted to get into the minutia, could go back and compare Kloos vs Malmquist ice time, offensive points per minute, defensive points given, relative goaltending, etc. Anyway, you are making my point for me: Malmquist does not have the pure offensive skill that someone li...

Nothing to get over 8) For 1AA maybe there can be a bit more flexibility in the future. Good luck to both teams tonight!!!!!!!!!! I think the crappy weather this year would make some flexibility nice. But most years when there aren't huge issues with transportation all of the games at the rec cente...

It's still a southern section. Rochester isn't the most central but it has the best, and really the only facilities to host bigger section games. Continue to gripe about the location but its set before the matchups are even announced so the privileged teams up north will have to deal with it. An hou...

Some random thoughts before the first ticket to State is punched today: Edina has made the tournament 6 consecutive years now, looking for 7. Hill Murray has made it 7 out of the last 8. Hill played Stillwater in the 2009 section final. It took them double overtime to win. East has made it 5 consec...

LN 5 Farmington 1 To bad there is a game now scheduled before this matchup. The earlier game will start at 6 but after the game, medal/trophy presentation, the LN/Farm game won't start till at least 9. That puts most people in the Lakeville/Farmington area home by about 12:30 - 1am IF the roads are...

So this guy gets rented by Warroad for three years, comes to the state to win a class A title, then leaves for a bitter state rival in UND and we claim him as our own and brag about it? Probably the exact same people that complain endlessly about private schools stealing the best players away from ...

Last I was told it hadn't been decided. They never decide 'til they know what teams are gonna be in it. Someone oughta t...

I think people put a lot on the family and friends bit of wanting to stay. Probably not many but at least a few have less than ideal home lives or maybe they don't have a group of friends that they've grown up playing with. This could motivate a kid to leave early especially if he plays for a lower-...

Did see representatives from several possible bidders for HDM 2015 at the games in Elk River checking out the logistics. 1 Range town, a west metro town and a large central mn town among those I heard about. Yep. Saint Cloud has been pretty open about their desire to host it in 2015. Any idea where...

Is this another commitment that could be gone in 2 years. Gophers need to find 4 year players to be successful. Simply look at the Frozen 4 teams this last season all older teams with experience. It is the team not the players that win championships... St. Cloud was not exactly an older team with e...

I was hoping they would've made some changes to 1AA and 6AA, but it apparently wasn't meant to be. 1AA has been awful for as long as I can remember. They never produce a legit team that you actually think could win it all, and 6AA has been producing at least 3-4 good teams for years now. Moving one...

There was another player on St. Thomas with 9 pts along with Alex Funk who also had 9.

I don't mean to bash the kid as I'm sure he's a great player with an off game, I really feel Slattery had no business making the all tourney team. I watched him all throughout the third period make mistake after mistake. From simply not moving his feed to multiple turnovers, all at a time when his t...
