Just to add a little insight to the WHL draft process. If a minnesota born kid is going to play canadian juniors they need to play in the WHL. Where you play in Canadian juniors to start is based on where you are born. Also the reason why few to none players get drafted is because the chances of a k...

Zurns points with Mahtomedi are pretty legitimate... The conference they play in has got to be, top to bottom, one of the best in the state(3 teams in the top5 A and AA) I know there are others but this is consideration.

SOMEBODY GOT IN TROUBLE!!

I am pretty sure it is public knowledge as I have checked with people not even connected to the program(AHA), and they heard as well and also checked with a couple people who have some good inside knowledge.... but some of the kids got caught hill murray style from last year, last night... No need f...

Simley goalie saves 66 against STA

Two pretty significant feats here:

Simleys goalie makes a wopping 66 saves in the game

STA fired a wopping 68 shots on net, albeit against Simley.

Anyone at the game, did Simley makes it over STA's blue line for longer than 5 minutes?

Good to know Rau is a 4.0 student.... All I know is that you could have taken my GPA over each of my four year's in a private school and add them together and it wouldn't equal 4.0. For those of you who may have forgotten, I am the only person I know that graduated college with a blood alcohol leve...

Donny Lucia is already groomin em

A little off topic... but if anyone saw last nights interview with Tony Lucia after the gopher game. On a number of occasions he said it was a big win for the "program". haha and not the "team". What player unless your the coaches kid says its a big win for the "program".

No way is SPA going to want to recreate themselves as a hockey powerhouse if that means lowering the academic standards. They are an elite prep school in MN with an incredible reputation and tradition. Norwich should have maybe tried another venue if that was his ultimate goal. Is MM still looking ...

All I can say is that I know for sure that some student athletes get relief on there tuition bill. If they didnt they wouldnt be able to get the players that they have. And also a handful of these players come from families that arent that fortunate. It is what it is.

I heard from what i consider a reliable source. The school was unhappy with some of his "outbreaks" during games and had given him a sort of "last straw ultimatum". It was in reference to him getting kicked out of hockey games for arguing  . So he argues a call at the Schwans cup and gets kick...

Lets not pass any judgement but i just got done watchin the MAXIM hottest 10 home town hotties. WOW. As for the two teams, Minnetonka would have an obvious slight edge based on seniority. From my knowledge Tonka has four seniors that are D1 commits and STA has two senior commits. I believe STA has o...

It does not make sense how Breck (the defending champs) who basically lose only 2 or 3 guys got outplayed by st. thomas who did not even make it to state last year, unless of course the cadets as they do well got a bunch of BS recruits, if they are SOOOOOOOOOOOO good why dont they play AA seriously...

Breck capitalized on there chances when they had them. But they only had a few good chances and the third goal through Alrichter was a weak one on the ice. Overall the puck was in the Breck zone a large majority of the game and the goalie played well. If this had been STA third game like it was Brec...

How many Minnesotan's, excluding shattuck, got drafted in the NHL draft last year? I know its early. But I personally think it might be a stretch that all the minnesota high school players listed in the A/B group, and more looking at the B group that would even get drafted by a club.

So let's see, the Gophs now have about 35-40 recruits that are in th '90-'92 range? Wow, they should start a jv program again
That is interesting, they do seem to have alot of kids signed that are expecting to play for them in the next couple of years. Who plays when and why?
