If you poll 2nd year squirts, they would vote 95% for checking at Pee Wees. If you poll 1st year Pee Wees, I bet the number drops below 50%. I have watched many kids change their mind after taking stupid hits from the kids who are just out to make the highlight hit. The truly skilled players would r...

Judging by the way Team Canada slapped the Americans all over the ice last night, not only should they not be thinking about eliminating checking until bantams, they should be looking into introducing it at the squirt level. Does anybody know if Team USA got the memo before last night's "game&...

Did not see the Alex game but heard the Alex defense played really well and kept SSP from getting too many quality chances. Sounded like a great game.

Not in the Metro, but there are a few openings left in the Alexandria Squirt A tournament. Jan 29-30. http://alexandria.pucksystems2.com/page ... 7-squirt-a

I do feel for the Wadena folks. Their are countless human tragedies that can't be overlooked, but the hockey association has a long road ahead of them to get back on their feet. It sounds like they are 2-3 years out, at best, to get indoor ice. Tough economic times to try to get anything done on tha...

I am going to go with my hometown team in Alexandria. Looks like most of the contenders have lost key players. Alexandria looks good in goal and the Cards will continue on with their solid team defense. Goal scoring will be a challenge, so it will be a hard fought section, but I think Alex comes out...

I believe it was John Buccigross who posted these parental rules, and I have the corresponding article as my homepage:

With a little googling, I found an article that the NBAHA is working with the city of Stacy to try to get something done. Have you heard if there is progress with that avenue?

I attended North Branch H.S. in the 80's. I was always disappointed that we didn't have a hockey team back in the day. I live up in Alex and both my kids play. It has been fun watching NB's program grow from afar and I really hope they get a rink built. My friends up here are amazed that we didn't h...

It is going to be a tall order for Alex to take down Lil' Falls. I think it boils down to this: If Alex gets on the board early, and Lil' Falls starts getting chippy (which we all know they can), then Alex has a great chance to steal this one. However, if Lil' Falls keeps their collective heads stra...

Alex looks like they are rated a little low... only lost to Lil' Falls and SC Cathedral... played them both very tough. Otherwise, rankings looks good!

Lil' Falls looks like a great team again. I am just curious why their fans are uber defensive about Alexandria. Alex should get a little bit of credit for being a solid team, playing very well right now. Lil' Falls doesn't seem to want to give any credit, and in fact, seems to be rooting for any oth...

Re: Little Falls @ Brainerd 1-6-09

Little Falls by 2.

I am looking forward to 1/22. I haven't seen Ben play in person yet. I am fired up to see him suit up with the Huskies down the road. However, I would love to see Alex shut him down on the 22nd. It should be an intense matchup!
