Re: Attendance?

Anyone know the attendance figures for yesterdays morning and evening sessions? According to the MSHSL.ORG box scores, the "A" early session attendance was 1828, and the evening session 1949. AA attendance today (Thursday) 3396 for the early session and no numbers on the evening session box scores.

Hopefully those heading to The X from Cloquet (CEC) make it down and back safe.. I got down to Barnum (about 25 minutes south for those who don't know,) and decided it wasn't a good idea to try and make it down and make it back home by 7 pm. The blowing snow and one lane of traffic made visibility a...

Jordan Thompson stole the show, and CEC capitalized on their few oppurtunities. I was listening to the Rapids announcers for the 2 minutes left in their post-game on the way home, and they were in awe of Thompson and how we (Cloquet) always have a goaltender step up and play tough come playoff time,...

No opponent is going to want to hear CEC pulled out of the hat (since the 4 un-seeded teams are drawn that way) if they've been paying attention to the last 3 weeks of hockey, and may vote to have them seeded rather than have to play them first. The thing I still don't understand since the first tim...

Seeding is Sunday morning, rather than have people sit around waiting for the last finals to end, is what I was told.

I could have gone to the arena when I got back to Cloquet from the basketball game and still saw a bunch of hockey..... from the News Tribune's website: Eveleth-Gilbert Area 4, Silver Bay Area 3 Amanda Arobogast scored her third goal of the game 37 seconds into triple overtime as the Golden Be...

I won't say the PHM first line was cheap.. but they you could tell they were getting frustrated at the end of the game, they sort of tried to change their style of play and started getting a bit physical in the last half of the third period. There could have been a couple more roughing or checking p...

CEC is returning to the state tournament with a 4-2 win over PHM! Goaltender Sarah Gustafson stopped something like 38 PHM shots, but it's hard to know the number for sure as the scoreboard operator was going up and down with it the whole game. Cloquet may have broke the 20 shot mark but play really...

I didn't see a ton of Duluth games (maybe 6 of them) and Bellamy has looked shaky in some and great in others.. Turner is a bit more fundamentally strong, and in the end will be a better goaltender, partly due to her experience playing boys Junior Varsity last year for Duluth East. But, she's only a...

DHMN. Shots were 28-19 PHM. Duluth had 5 PP to 1 for PHM. Did you see Duluths second and third goals? Rather soft wrist shots from the top of the circle into the corner of the net. Yes, the last 2 PHM goals were lucky. However, as evidenced by 2 game shot totals of 63-34, the better team won. Shots...

It was a great day of hockey... CEC had to start backup goaltender Nicole Lund, after starter Sarah Gustafson got knocked into by accident during warmups and took a nasty fall backwards.. she did stay on the bench and man the door though. Lund played great to get the win, and Cloquet had players ste...

DHMN- You do a great job. Will you be taking pictures from the 7AA Boys' Tourney as well? With the Semi's and Finals at the DECC, I plan on being at those but will obviously start the boys playoffs with Cloquet's game, the first time in many years our boys team will play the quarterfinals on the ro...

CEC 4 Forest Lake 2... Courtney Esse with a hat-trick for Cloquet. Audrey Hanmer probably played 35-40 minutes of the 51 minute game... I believe she was on the ice the entire first 5 minutes of the third period. She had a ton of shot attempts but also a lot of turnovers as the Cloquet defense poked...

If you never experienced the "old" Cloquet arena, the Barn when East or Denfeld came in (and we waited outside after school in line for 2 hours to get in).. you never experienced real atmosphere. People packed into an arena the fire marshal rated for something like 1500 (and obviously more than that...

We'll see though, CEC is the only one of the top 4 that Forest Lake didn't play this season so it's hard to really know until tomorrow night.

Funny how the 7AA poll came out identical to the actual seedings. Cloquet vs Duluth in Final Duluth wins If we (CEC) can get past Rapids (after Forest Lake tomorrow night) the confidence from the OT win against Duluth will be huge. That said, Duluth still has to get past Weiss and Gilbert so we'll ...
