OK, need to limit the search some more. Div 1 hockey, good engineering program and not in New York. Anyway my daughter could never play for RIT, she's not from Ontario.

Funny you left the Minnesota out of the list.

Michigan is a disgrace for being a pinnacle of boy's hockey but refuses to offer a girls program. Keep them barefoot and pregnant and doing the laundry is the way they roll it seems... A quick look shows University of Michigan offering more women's sports than University of Minnesota. Having Water ...

Predicting a gopher hockey win. That's really going out on a limb.

I think what he is saying is what is the rush ? I think the two of you agree. But rushing it, leaving early, brings more peril into play. There is more to lose than to gain would be another way of phrasing it. If a kid is a year older, he is a year more prepared for life away from home. He also say...

I have it from a good source that Eden Prairie plans to show up for games against Hill Murray this year. Playing poorly and losing by one in the semi is not in the plans for this year. I'm sick and tired of hearing what a great hockey player Taylor Williamson is. Williamson can carry a team, just no...

I'm sure we will see a loud support for the Warrior mascot, especially from the local Native Americans. Henr...

Of course, the irony of the situation, when such groups take such actions, is that *before* such actions, no one gave the logo, name, etc. a second thought, negative or otherwise. But once a such lawsuits are filed, does anyone think that helps generate positive thoughts, respect, etc. towards the ...

I wonder when these same groups will go after the state of North Dakota as well. Their highway road signs depict an indian in a head dress and they have an indian for their state patrol car logo. I guess they don't see that as offensive. Instead they are going after small unknown schools and not th...

I am talking the trend right now. Mounds view has had two good teams over the past how many years, Rosevilles program is on the decline. That's...surprising. I'd figure their decision would have been opposite. This means Cheater will play Shattuck to go to Nationals, so that's interesting. I'm surprised that you are surprised. I don't see how there could have been any other decision. Shattuck set a precedent for a Tier 1 hockey magn...

What exactly can the MHSL or MHA do to prevent Tier 1 winter hockey? You can prevent those players from playing in the high school league, but what prevents them from playing a schedule like SSM?

What is radical about the article? That our culture places too much importance on sport, which is supposed to be played for fun, and turned it into a measure of one's worth? That is truth, undeniable truth. I tried so very hard to direct my daughter to low key intramural style sports. Leagues where ...

I have a hard time seeing where the Wild/Colorado series is any example of home ice advantage. The Wild very nearly won games 1 and 5 in Colorado. Game 6 plays out with almost exactly the same script, but this time the Wild get off a shot and there is no missed penalty or offside. I see no evidence...

My point: It would be a more exciting, more popular tournament if the best teams could play in it. That's all. Most of the teams in this years state tournament would have been handily defeated by the 5th best team in Section 6. It's not a "Cities" thing. It's a "I want to see the best teams play in...

Agreed with taking it to Ridder. Every player and coach wants it. BUT, it wil never happen. Title IX and the lawyers will never let it happen, maybe ever I thought the same, but after asking several players not one said she'd rather play at Ridder. Each one thought Xcel is a much nicer facility and...

I would play all games except the final game at Ridder. That is a much better venue for the girls as it feels like there is a full house there versus the X where you feel like no one showed up. Playing the final at the X gives the girls that get that far the experience of playing in the big lights ...

It's not that players are forgotten, many times they choose not to play in this event for various reasons. I suppose that's true. Many girls are starting their spring sports and it would certainly be understandable if others are ready to take a break from hockey. That doesn't explain how clumpy som...

I second the "LPH, are you listening?" comment on the Forward, Def, and Goalie categories…then maybe add a new category of "player of the year" that could be the best of all positions. This year would have been a great year for it with at least 2 great forward candidates for "Miss Forward" or whate...
