Major Jr. vs. Minnesota Association hockey

Minnesota hockey and Coach Pauly have no right to jump in and give their opinion or decide where kids go to visit. Everyone knows he allowed 2 players to go to the NTDP camp last year, but that was ok. Coach Pauly gets to decide what path Alec takes? No his family does, not him or the big wigs of Mi...

Here's a list with Forwards, Goalies, and D in no order. Pitlick, Freytag, Norman, Gersich, Versich, Novak, Klehr, Kielly, Saccoman, Malmquist, Driscoll, Robert, Peterson, Yungwirth, Jungels, Zimmer(9th?), Iverson, Swaney, Wahlin and Lindgren. That includes a little of all positions and all talented...

I will take STA over Edina 3-2. Think STA's defense and goaltending better.

BigBear, welcome to the forum. Feeling a little guilty that your kid one of the undeserving picks? Or are you one of the evaluators who did such a fabulous job of unbiased selection? PLEASE! Cut the crap. There were kids at all positions who got the nod over other kids for political reasons. EVERY P...

National 15 list

Sorno and out of town, Those are all great sentiments and life lessons for our kids about life not being fair. No one wants to pick on the one boy but how about all the boys who are alternates or didn't make it because they don't live in Wayzata or Edina or go to a school Minnesota Hockey frowns on....

Goalies I heard Ahrens, Robert, and Klaers.
Don't know which one is alternate but would assume Klaers.

NHL combine

Kind of interesting that none of the Minnesota players came from high school but there were several from prep schools in the east that came straight from high school. If I'm not mistaken they play a similar 30 game schedule too like MSHL does.

Wow, I didn't realize Zuhlsdorf didn't make D6 district final D. Another great D from D6 that I would put near the top that wasn't at the festival is Runyon from HF/Machine. He has always been a smart, solid defenseman. D6 must have had some great D to skip these two. Jack Achan is one of them. Smal...

BubbleHockeyPro-
Politics do play a part in my list. Sadly that's life and Minnesota hockey. My list of who really should go would be different. And yes, I almost included Dornbach for that reason.

Task Force--I agree Driscoll and Swail very good and I really couldn't decide amongst the 4. I think Swail, Driscoll, and Robert actually had better showing throughout the spring festival. Will see who works the hardest at St. Cloud.

Advanced 15's National List

Bender, I was wondering when or if someone was going to take a guess at this list. You have a good list, I'd make a few changes. . . Defense--Newhouse, Klehr, Saccoman, Robbel, Osterman, Krych, Jutting. Forwards--Freytag, Versich, Yungwirth , Pitlick, Boeser, Baer, Garin, Sitarz, Dolter, McDonald, B...

I could be wrong but I believe Spindler from Wayzata played a few years with the Machine/Duece. Also D10's Tyler Turnquiest is really Jordan Turnquist and he played several years with the Blades.

OTC: From my son's friend, what he heard at Silverstick tourney was that wealthy WBS parent got Russian "assistant" coach to come and he brought with him 4 boys from Russia and 1 from Czech republic. In addition the took a huge Inuit Indian boy from Canada. They put them up in wealthy WBS "billet ho...

Shattucks run to National Championship

My son's best friend throughout youth AAA hockey and now was one of the 9 Minnesota Boys on that team. They came up short, but had an amazing season and the Minnesota Boys had alot to do with it. All of us in Mn association hockey should be happy and proud of these boys and their hard work. These fa...

I agree with alot of the players on this list. Would definitely add a few. Boeser and Achan from Burnsville are very talented together and Boeser alone too is amazing. Masterman(Edina), Sullivan(EP), Freytag(Wayzata), Gabriel(OMG), Brumm(OMG), and Franta should be included. I would also add Spindler...

Mite-Dad, You are seriously out of touch if you think everyone at private school is rich and doesn't sacrifice to get their kids there. I have 3 friends whose boys are at STA. They are all single parents working extra time to pay for tuition. My one friend has a home daycare and took in extra kids a...

My son played those tournaments for years and always enjoyed himself and liked playing with the different kids. He and his friends still look at the pictures of themselves as Squirts and talk about who scored the OT goal to win. Are these tournaments a lot of money for the ice time? Yes. Are they fu...

Mulesrbest, I agree Ellingson is a great player too. Haven't seen him play since he was a PeeWee, but he has always been a tough player with nice hands. A few other nice 1997 players who are in high school are Will Garin(HF), Matt Runyon (HF) and Tom Novak(STA). They may not be bantams anymore but s...

Would definitely have to add Brock Boeser of Burnsville to the list. I heard he has over 40 pts in 18 games.
Freytag from Wayzata nice player too.
Saw Masterman from Edina this past weekend at Braemar and he too is a fun player to watch.

Puckhead 58,
Thanks for clarifying that for Bender 1 and the rest of us. Just in case we didn't know where the national rankings were posted.
