Maybe not require 2 AA teams. But probably 2 A teams. And every AA association should be required to field an A level team

I agree scrimmages don't mean alot, which is why I didn't bring up LHS losing all three Rochester schools last year. And funny, LHS didn't want to participate this year. We can all cherry pick a season to say what-if? But, the fact remains, LHS is the best Class A team in Rochester.

What? Look at common opponents. Most recently Eau Claire Memorial for starters. I would not say JM has been better for several years, but CHS and Mayo have consistently been better than LHS. At least by common opponents. We'll never know til LHS joins the big boy league.

Lourdes had the best team in Rochester back in the Stuart boys' era. Had all 4 teams played Section1A, LHS would not be the reigning highest scoring HS team at Mariucci. Century would be!

LHS is not the best team this year either. Another nice Class A private school team not interested to play AA.

That is utterly ridiculous Quacker. Not for Mites, but for Squirts and above, 2 hours is ideal.

To start the "splitting hairs" debate. I have been told 2 hour practices are not allowed if the ice is resurfaced after the 1st hour. So it is ok to skate for 2 hours straight, but not 1st hour, Zam, 2nd hour. Anyone heard of this?

There is a big difference between "gaining zones" "advancing the puck" or "area passing" and "Dump and Chase". But we have all seen Dump and Chase taught as a breakout system with the coach saying, "I'd rather have a few icings than turn the puck over in the D-zone" The same ones scream "DUUUUMP" as...

You're mad when 1-16 beats 17-34? You're mad when 17-34 beats 1-16. Now you're mad when 1-16 beats 1-16? Or are you mad that a program plays A instead of AA. You hated B1's. Now you hate A teams beating AA teams?

Greybeard: Do coaches and parents complain to the Districts year after year about virtually everything?

Do high school coaches complain that youth programs aren't doing things right?

Just curious.

Who's Dad is mad? From Champlin Park AA or the Centennial A? If so, why is he mad? If CP, Rogers, St. Francis/Irondale, etc get blown out 9-0 against AA teams and undoubtedly will be beaten by A teams, maybe they opted for the wrong level of play? Regardless, what difference does any of that make? Q...

I'm not saying it's BAD in all cases for all associations or all districts. I'm just saying in a District with 8-10 AA teams and 8-10 A teams, why would you force AA vs A games? They are free to schedule non-league games. For some associations it would be a good thing, for others bad. I've been invo...

In fairness, you should state that some districts are forcing AA vs. A. Not all. As I've said many times, some districts and associations did not do the right thing this year, but will get it right next year. And since your tunnel vision is on D10, you'd agree the people running D10 have done things...

I agree with you. I've never said AA teams should be forced to play A teams. I've said the ones that match well should and will schedule non-league games though.

How many B2 teams are beating B1 teams?

Some AA vs A will be fine. Some will be blow outs. Look at the AA vs AA and A vs A and B1 vs B1. I have seen 10-0 games at the same level? I have seen blows where shots on goal are 50-10 and others that are 25-25 but the losing team has a weak goalie. I see no reason for AA vs A within the same asso...

Not starting another debate, I was not there, but most sources have said the injury to the girl was not a penalty. In other words, non-call was the right call. Quacker: USA Jr hockey still uses the 1 ref - 2 linesmen. High school, D1, Minor Pro, NHL, International and who know how many upper levels use the 2 - 2 system. (Not sure about D3?) You could have had 10 referees on the ice, and it wouldn't have STOPPED the Jab's hit from happening. But both refs s...
