Excellent post 1excg!!! To clarify, the "sky is falling" comment was aimed at BoDangles. He among others should read 1excg's posts and understand that there is more to hockey than AAA super-duper elite players and parents that enjoy the game. And that USA Hockey, MN Hockey and associations make chan...

1excg: Great posts! Most people on here focus only on AAA-AA-A levels. The C experience is just as important. And from what you're saying, some associations C level might be players number 65-80 in the depth chart and it is appropriate to play against another association's depth numbers 35-50. It's ...

Interesting conversation that basically boils down to parents coaching their kids away from the rink? I'm sure their coaches appreciate the extra help.

Thanks JSR.

Good one Bo! Was asking because I heard 3 Rochester families have joined this program, yet petitioned our association to be "practice players"? This sounds remarkably close to the old FIRE days except for adding 3+ hours of driving and more rules to break... Err I mean rules to follow.

HSHockeywatcher: I fully understand many parents chart their children's educational course. Many already know what college and med school their kids will attend. Would you agree there are many people that make the choice to leave their community far closer than when entering kindergarten? Regarding ...

The topic was started after seeing Bruce Plante's press conference. So if Hermantown imports players, might be fair game for discussion. I am just curious how many players played their youth hockey in a community far removed from the school they attend. For instance, I am told some players have 40-5...

Rochester Lourdes: 1 lives/played in Winona. 1 lived/played in Red Wing. 1 lived/played in Texas. 1 lives/played in Kasson. The rest lives/played youth hockey in Rochester.

Where do they come from?

With all the private school talk, I am curious where do the players come from? As in, where did they play their youth hockey? I don't think hijacking Bantam programs counts as playing their youth hockey.

Was my internal shot clock off in the 2nd period? Said 5-3? Seemed low? After 2nd period, I thought flood gates might open. The Red Wing goalie played great and gave them a very good chance to win. The Century and Winona boys were quiet all night, but a well tipped fling to the net and we had a game...

I would agree with Washed Up. Teams that develop game plans around 2 players, fail. My guess is EGF will be aware of them, but not designing a game plan around them. Coach has probably told the team, when you see those two guys, put a shoulder on their sternum. And watch out for the D-man that will ...

I said nothing inaccurate? I don't think holding down a 2 bedroom apartment qualifies as "moving the family to Rochester". It does beat driving back-forth in a blizzard after night games! And I have not suggested the current player is driving back and forth to Texas. Or the other to Red Wing? But he...

Elliot: So as this situation is described by D-Zone. Isn't New Ulm just as guilty as Lakeville? D-Zone states Lakeville called New Ulm, said they were a B1 team, asked if they could fill a spot, New Ulm knowingly accepted their registration and allowed them to play. I would think New Ulm is possibly...

On the B1 tournament. I would ask if Lakeville misrepresented their team as being an A team? If not, did the tournament willingly accept a B team for an A tournament? Can District Director approve this like they can for specific games? Would seem to me if the tournament host association admitted a B...

I understand USAH stands behind their rule and the MN referee directors tow the company line. But ask the actual referees what they think. A few have told me what they like about being only ref, but all say high school system is much better. Propose the change Elliot. It will pass in the name of pla...
