The AA South region thing was stupid by MN Hovkey.

But the FORMAT is an error with the District's #1 seed playing a #2 and the District's #2 playing a #3. That is just a silly error of logic.

I say MSHSL should adopt a very simple rule. If you don't live in the bussing zone for a school, you are exempt from sports. (i.e. if you live in Winona, you can't play for Lourdes. If you live in Rosemount, you can't play for BSM, etc.) Then we can see who open enrolls for the education.

Best suggestion yet! I'd just say as it is not logical that #4 seeds will be the odds on favorite to advance to State.

I agree! #4 seeds should not be rewarded nor should the South region which only has 4 teams. Is MN Hockey Board discussing that fix or no??

3rd place team should have the option of staying in East or moving to South. Or format should have been altered to combine both regions to send top 4 seeds to State.

Interesting that anyone could think having a team throw a District Championship game to get a better seed for the opening game is not an error?

Since Lourdes won't go AA,common opponents comparison is all we have. And so far supports Mayo is the better team this year. Century has been in the past also. But if they played and LHS lost, they'd have had a bad night, didn't show up to play, need best 2 of 3 series, etc.

Mayo knew full well what they were up against with Eastview and didn't "take them lightly". So Eastview has to be top 10 team to be taken seriously? About 70 teams wish they were in the top 10! And I did see Spaniol's comment. Didn't know he dressed 22 players? It's easy to dismiss a loss ...
