Hands down worst rink is Sunmart Arena in Fargo! Granted...we don't have to play in Sunmart every week but that rink is so bad it's actually kind of cool and a unique experience for the kids. When the kids play in Fargo all the rinks tend to blend together...but they remember Sunmart! Isn't the one...

I've talked to to coaches and parents from other teams in the area such as Wayzata and Minnetonka. Their kids go to the exact same off season programs, and often play on the same teams, as the Edina kids. Why single them out?

actually , they aren't stacking any teams, unlike some others towns. Their B teams are very even in talent. Last year the B teams were also strong, but the A team this year has benefitted from getting back some of their kids that were playing AAA rather than town hockey. Expecting all of this to tra...

I've been impressed with the talent and depth of the Chaska/Chanhassen program at the Squirt level for a couple of years now. They field strong, capable teams.

I think that Edina Squirts should have two A (not A1 and A2) teams. Right now their A team is undefeated and crunching most of their opponents. The B teams are similar. Frankly the kids from both levels can a play a bad game and still win against almost all of their opponents. That isn't the way it ...

I can't get over the futility of a fight between two players wearing a face cage or mask.

any scrimmage more than 20 minutes is considered a game, I believe. Doesn't matter if there are refs or a clock.

Actually, we would love to have Edina come up for our tournament. They bring a B squirt team up every year and have never been anything but gracious and have enjoyed their stay up here. We won't paint the entire program with a huge brush, because of one unfortunate incident. We went this year (Edin...

Remember, this is merely a return to the rules that hockey had in place before 1960 or thereabouts. The two line offside was also abolished and the result has been more creative play. This is basically an anti-goon rule. Not needed as much as in previous decades(i.e. 70's) but i don't see a downside.

My son was a first year Edina Squirt B last year and is back in it. Thought he might have a chance to make the A team this year, but he didn't even get a chance. All of the Edina Squirt B teams are pretty competitive this year. If you took the top four players off of each team you'd have a group tha...

the reasons to do it are: 1) create offense 2) make penalties more punitive. Sounds like a good idea to me. I would like to see it in the pro game even more. It would discourage penalties, which would speed up the game. Would also like to see bigger ice surfaces, but that seems impossible for some r...

Blaine beat Fargo 6-1. Fargo actually outshot Blaine, but played sloppy hockey, while Blaine played very smart. Blaine backchecked to prevent clear scoring chances, their goalie covered up well, and they floated a forward up past Fargo's D which Fargo didn't adjust to very well. The Fargo boys have ...

Fargo has a good record this year, but against what caliber of competition? There are 2, maybe 3 boys on their team who MIGHT make this year's version of the Edina squad, which is stacked. Don't know about the other teams. Is Stillwater good this year?
