It'll be an interesting year. East is very young, with just one returning senior skater who played a regular shift last year. Rapids and Elk River are so good and experienced that their odds at State are pretty low by East standards, and Cloquet and Marshall can beat them on a good night, too. Stil...

Interesting. I just had a flash back of a couple years ago. Seems I heard the same thing.....that the goalie for GR had to stand on his head in goal just to get out of the district playoffs that year.

I've heard from a friend in the Elk River hockey family that senior Jensen Zerban not coming back his senior year for the Elks. What affect will this have on Elk hockey this winter?

LOL. Yea I get that a lot...when it comes to Minnesota high school hockey. i actually don't need caffeine during the high school hockey season. I'm pretty jacked without any added fuel.

I'm sure that's true. Just saying lines tend to change more than they stay the same throughout the year. And I would put EP's top 3 forwards on a par with GR's top 3 forwards. Klatt stated in an interview on KOZY radio that the top line will be Hain, McLaughlin, and Miller. . We won't have to wait ...

I've never heard of this kid. Was he a transfer last year from where? Very interested in hearing more on this kid. #218 hockey.

Where is any chatter? I believe we are 10 days away from opening of tryouts.... Perhaps its deer season or the elections. Perhaps the World Series. Perhaps no one has anything to say. Perhaps high school hockey is no longer of interest to the adult male population of Minnesota. "The day that hockey...

I have no clue. Just that Andover's PeeWee and Bantam AA teams are highly ranked preseason this year.

Back to the topic at hand, I do think this is as wide open as last year was, and really there are up to 10 teams that can win this again. Like Bantams 3 years ago with this group. EP should not be pre-ordained. Very good team, but far from a juggernaut. Grand Rapids, Stillwater, Elk River, Wayzata,...

A bit of a slow start to the afternoon Great Plains-North game, but it got good and interesting in the last couple minutes when GP tied it at 3 with 1-something left and North grabbed the lead back with 30-odd seconds to go. The game also involved a long delay as North goalie Cade McEwen (Hermantow...

Grand Rapids year and they know it, nothing to talk about. Duluth East and Elk River not in the running. When is Cloquet in the running? Duluth Marshall proving they made a big mistake. All the 7A people want Hermantown in AA. All the 7AA people want them to stay in A. Elk River will still cry abou...

Marshall routinely at state? LOL yesh sure. Maybe if they start filling those new dorms with internationals superstars. If not sorry. Boys went AA because they can't compete with Hermantown at A and can't recruit anyone good. It's the last gasp. Their girls team is young, but won't be a factor desp...

To help me understand this, can you tell me which players on last year's varsity team open enrolled at Hermantown, where they are from and when they changed to Htown school district. Thanks. Re: WBL

Does White Bear stand a chance of upsetting Hill or Stillwater this year? With the Bears huge Cloquet/east sized rivalry with HM, I think anything is possible when the Bears and Pioneers clash! It's on my bucket list to take a trip down to the metro for one of these epic battles. I know we played t...

Forest Lake, Elk River, Andover, then everybody else? Duluth Marshall will still be very young but talented. CEC and Marshall will be fighting for that home game in the quarters. Any feedback would be appreciated:)

Taking a stab at the AA section rankings: Section 1: 1) Lakeville North 2) Lakeville South 3) Farmington 4) John Marshall 5) Mayo 6) Owatonna 7) Century 8) Dodge County Section 2: 1) Eden Prairie 2) Holy Family 3) Minnetonka 4) Prior Lake 5) Chaska 6) Yeah. Looks like CEC and Duluth Marshall fighti...
