Maybe its because there a small school- and won't have this type of team always. Personally I think Duluth Marshall made a mistake opting up and might not be in tournament for a very long time. Marshall got the stones to opt up along with all the others who do and are respected Hermantown is a fine...

It seems you are only focused on what is best for your team, but try to hide behind what is best for hockey. There are so many variables in having a successful program, such as cost, ice time, parental support, community support, facilities and coaching. People were upset at Warroad a few years ago...

So, these communities should recruit to get better? I don't think you understand the dynamics in some of these inter-city or suburban schools. I don't believe that you have to make the state tournament to have a successful season. It's definitely nice, and a team goal, but for many A and AA teams i...

4 goal lead heading into the 3rd. There is absolutely, positively no way Hermantown could blow this lead. It would be impossible for them to lose the game now.

Re: Class A Championship: Breck vs. Hermantown

Do the Hawks break the skid, or do we see a 7-peat? I personally think Hermantown would crush EP and/or Wayzata. This team is deep, fast, physical, and determined. Scary good....... I don't think they would crush them, but I would pick them to beat either of those teams. Hermantown already beat Way...

You make some good points. People said two class hockey would kill the tournament. If schools can opt up every 2 years, why can't schools opt down to be at competitive levels. Is the AA level fair for Mpls, outstate coops, communities like St Louis Park,Brooklyn Park etc. Do they have a chance of m...

I think Breck will play them pretty tight, but the Hawks top line will be too much.

5-2 Hawks.

It would be interesting to see what the A tournament would look like if schools had to play in their classification by enrollment? I would think this would increase the interest and attendance in the A tournament. Why would this be bad? Sure, if BSM, HM, STA, HF, GR, Bemidji, etc. were in A along w...

Well, it finally happened. Lou Nanne just called for Hermantown to move up to AA on the Dan Barreiro show. He said Hermantown and Breck are as good as the AA tourney teams and should both be in AA, and that would make the AA and A tournaments better. It was just a matter of time, and now we have th...

Wayzata vs EP in the AA championship. Are they not the to biggest schools in mn? 3,000 + students. Not fair, they should move up to the USHL! If only there was a northern team capable of beating one of these teams. Much respect to GR. They pass up Single A glory so that they can play against...

Hermantown is a complete joke! SPA is a legitimate A team and the Hawks are taking a crap on em. Any A title isn't even worth celebrating, especially after the display by A enrollment schools GR and Bemidji last night. SPA legit class A team? Their private school. No legit class A team is private. ...

After Hawks win tomorrow they will be playing AA.

Bruce is ready.

If you don't like HTown playing A cheer loud for them on Saturday. Could be their last A game.
No, they are in A next year for sure. 2017-18 is the first year they could go AA.

Re: Class A semifinal: SPA vs. Hermantown

Over a private school??? Really... Any public over a private not even a question. I agree, but Hermantown is only quasi-public. Quasi-public? Come on really! That's offensive that you would even say that. Personally can't wait till Herm goes AA and knocks Cloquet out every year. Marshall can drop b...

Bemidji is up 1-0 nothing on a breakaway in the last minute. Go Jacks. Good first period. Rapids is strong, Bemidji took awhile to get going. Lee Interesting. Looking at GR lineup, they are going to be really, really good again next year. This game tonight, they just have some crazy talent. I would...
