Re: Eden Prairie …

EP has also been without their second leading goal scorer from last season all year due to an ankle fracture. Having Jones and Jensen not in the line up takes out a lot of EP's physical game and scoring power.

Why do we even call this Elite League anymore. Why don't we just call it what it is, the Fall OS League?

Re: Updated List of Minnesota Girls D1 and D3 Commitments

I suspect a lot of schools are trying to commit the younger girls before the rules change in April and they can't talk to them until they are Juniors. So we will see a lot more younger commitments between now and April.

Re: 2018 elite league

Bringing in the 9th and 10th graders (kids who haven't ever played high school) only waters down the level of play and crowds out legitimate older kids. Let the Prep league or the Tier I leagues showcase the younger talent. Make them legitimate leagues and showcase them there. Scouts will have a bet...

That team was the most dominant AA/A Bantam...

Re: Dynamo Premier Prep vs MGHCA Premier Prep

Unfortunately it looks like the talent is split multiple ways between Dynamo/Premier Prep/Prep Elite with several girls playing in at least two. Lots of money to be made in hockey.

Re: National festival roster

I think it may also be that there has become one team at each level that is "anointed" greatness based on who they play for. The tryout system in MN for HP and Elite League has become lazy and the evaluators are looking for the same girls. These girls all play together, are used to each others syste...

Re: Dynamo Premier Prep vs MGHCA Premier Prep

And how does the "alternate" elite league fit into all this? All of this is a mess right now. Parents are very confused. MN Hockey needs to step in.

kind of sad they seem to going the way of the scouts and letting younger and younger kids play even though they haven't played a game of high school yet just because they are good within their age group and have a known name.

A commitment is not binding. I would be very hesitant to allow my 8th grade Johnny to make a college commitment. There is pressure on coaches to find the next superstar. And so it is to their advantage to make early commitments. The problem is, many 8th grade superstars don't turn out to be college/...

These early commitments seem a little crazy. Just heard from coaches on the girls side last weekend say that a lot of times these early commitments don't work out because the kids stops pushing themselves to get better and sometimes don't focus on grades.
