It appears everyone eating cake got placed, despite missing numerous tryouts. One for their banquet.

It seemed to me to be much more political this year than in year's past. A lot of attention given to a player's "resume" and less to do with how they performed on the ice during tryouts. Our district had several players - all from the same team - miss one of the three original tryouts that made the ...

Not all the top 02's chose to play with the Machine Elite OS team. There is other top 02 talent in the metro that choose to play elsewhere. That said, the '02 team plays very well together and having 25 rostered makes sure their bench is never short.

real example. Association x has been very supportive of girls hockey. Has non parent head coach and non parent assistant coaches for the A team. Has practice jersey's :D Gets equal ice time and is otherwise equal to the boys program. Last year had no girls playing boys and was a top ten or higher te...

I would agree that the talent and depth of the 12's is not as good as last year. Also see a big drop in the goalie talent from last year to this year.

Very sad news. He is truly a legend. As someone from a neighboring town, always tried to get my hands on those infamous training videos, but of course I never did. RIP

I won't speak for them, but last year our U12 team was a top 5-8 team. We have an all non-parent, qualified coaching staff, our association has been very supportive of our girls program. We would be a top contender if all our 12U girls played in the program. Then again, maybe I am missing something ...

4 girls from our association alone playing peewees -- non on AA. It might be different if they were AA material, but it just hurts our girls program, the boys are resentful and creates rifts with the remaining girls. Very unfortunate.

This is one of the "power associations" you mentioned. All hours are the same and coaching is not an issue. Non parent coaches with top credentials -- actually as it looks now, the boys side may end up with parent coaching.

Again, these are girls making the 2nd or 3rd teams down in boys, not the top team. Yea, for the girls that are talented enough to skate with the boys at the top level, go ahead, but when they are playing B boys hockey I think it hurts the girls programs, and really doesn't benefit them either, for t...

No, had a girls program ranked anywhere from 3 to 8 last year. Just parents with Olympians too good to play girls. I will clarify, I don't think an "A" team that has a "AA" team is really an "A" team. Anything past the top team, I consider B.

That is my point, we will have 4 girls playing boys who will not make the top team and may struggle to make the second team. Ultimately it hurts the girls program and creates a lot of animosity between the girls who should be using this time to build relationships and cohesiveness that they could us...

U15

I know there was some discussion about this on another thread, but now that this looks like a reality across the state, there seems to be a lot of questions about why this is being instituted, and what it will mean. I am just trying to understand so if anyone has any insight, please share.
