Semi-Finals @ MAC on Saturday

River Lakes vs Cathedral @4:00pm

Alex vs Sartell @7:00pm

Is there a chance of anyone besides Cathedral coming out of 6A? I would say very slim. Hoping RL can give Cathedral a game, and Alex vs. Sartell should be a great matchup.

Re: Lumberjacks at Hermantown

I won’t be there tonite. I think Hermantown is a lot like the New EnglandPatriots in the NFL. Their system is so dang empressive each year. Lumberjacks have their hands and everything else full tonight. I think Hermantown wins in their barn in Hermantown. Ps. If you going to bash Hermantown Hockey,...

I believe it is a coaches vote. It will be interesting to see where everyone lands in the end. 1-3 is a lock with Alex and Sartell battling for the 2 seed. 4-6 is interesting. River Lakes has beat Little Falls and Fergus (split) so they have a strong case for the 4, but I would think LF would get th...

Why don't we just rename the section playoffs to "State Section Playoffs". That way everybody gets to play in the STATE tournament. BTW, I'm old school and still would prefer only one class. Lastly, the STATE tournaments should be played in venues that are more appropriate to the size of the crowds...

Pretty sure he was asking if the 1998 Hermantown roster was indeed from Hermantown, or transplants from surrounding communities.

You don't. Its an intangible demonstrated by championship teams and players. Obvious why you don't understand this. Sense the sarcasm in the question... So two years ago when LN got stomped by Edina in the final, they didn't have heart or the "no quit attitude?" By your logic, only champions can ha...

Your team gets the "level of flak" that they do bc they got super fans like you yapping their mouths non stop on them. Like I said yesterday (and you somehow still refute in your thick head) rapids is inconsistent at best. When you put your team out there and they get beat expect you are gonna hear...

Re: Go north

Forget Metro. Go North and experience true Minnesota Hockey, where you play association hockey with your classmates, without nearly as much political bs. Moorhead, Roseau, Warroad, Grand Forks, Alexandria... pick one. None of these towns will target your family like you would experience in the Metr...

I've read the article, and understand it quite well, thanks for the "guidance". I understand that it is rare for the MSHSL to send a AA school to A based on competitive play. I also know there are other AA schools who would be a better candidate to drop down to A based on their smaller enrollment s...

I'm allowed to believe that state tournaments shouldn't be handed out, as well as thinking MAML dropping down makes sense for that program. MAML dropping down does not make them a lock at making the tournament. Is that so hard to understand? I would have put them in 6A but judging by your knowledge ...

So by the same token, we should bump down St. Franny, CI, Andover, and anyone who may have struggled in the past. Its called work ethic!!! JSR- I was talking mostly about High School. The great thing about varsity sports is that you can not cut a player because they are not good enough, thats what JV is for. It is different at private schools. Hill-Murray will cut a senior if he doesn't make varsity, and won't let them play JV because ...

The difference today is parents feel that their kid is entitled to something even if they haven't earned it. If a coach disciplines an athlete because of poor play/breaking team rules, the first person a parent looks at is the coach. "Why is my kid getting the shaft?". Some parents automatically bla...
